After the little 'tests,' without really explaining what she meant, Karuhi hurriedly left. She said she would contact me again, but she seemed visibly disturbed by the 'monster' that Senne turned out to be.
"What was that all about?" I asked Senne as soon as Karuhi left, rather rudely, I must say, leaving us alone to find our own way out of the thick forest.
"My memories are patchy, but those were barriers that were supposed to contain me."
"Why didn't they work on you? Or more importantly, how the heck would she even know how to do those things?"
"It seems something runs in her family. With her ability to see me, that 'thing' always attached to her, and her knowledge of barriers."
"Can we even trust her at this point?"
"I don't know, but she's interesting."
Senne looked more amused than concerned.
"I'm getting a little creeped out here."
I was of a different opinion.
"Don't worry, she won't be able to harm you."
