The Tang sect left with their injured elders as the sect leader looked at Sun Rong before leaving now there were only a few people in the base.
"So, how many of those you are planning to build" Sun Rong asked pointing at Heaven breaker and ARCHON who stood in the Hangar Bay like sleeping giants next to them was an incomplete chassis
"Many" Lin Shen replied as he stood in the monitoring room "And I am not planning to stop"
"Why" asked Sun Rong
"Because preparation helps with survival" replied Lin Shen
Outside the valley was calm
Spirit beast wandering around as they pleased as drones scanned the terrain.
Then the alarms went off.
WARNING INTRUDERS DETECTED
The main viewscreen crackled to life showing three black figures moving they did not target spirit beasts instead they were spread out and moving methodically.
"Deploy surveillance drones" Lin Shen said calmly
"You seem too calm for someone who is being attacked," said Sun Rong
"I was expecting this to happen" replied Lin Shen
As the drones closed in the figure's uniforms could be seen more clearly now.
"Wait, those uniforms" said Sun Rong her breath catching
"You know them" Lin Shen said not looking up from the console
"Shadow Hall assassins they usually work for anyone as long as they are paid" Sun Rong replied
Just then one of the assassins looked directly at the surveillance drone.
"Found you" the assassin said
The screen flickered before going dark
Sun Rong's heart rate spiked but Lin Shen remained calm
"Activate combat drones" Lin Shen said calmly
Just then hidden compartments on the mountain opened up and combat drones flooded out like a swarm of angry bees.
The drones and the assassins fought and during this battle two more figures showed themselves and now there were five assassins.
Xuanwu valley was now filled with Qi blasts cycling through the air as the drones spread out in formation trying to kill the assassins. The assassins.
The assassins fought back by through daggers infused with Qi and precision strikes that targeted the drone's mobility.
"I really hoped that I did not need to use this but I have no choice now." Lin Shen said
"Use what" asked Sun Rong
"You see when I made the mechs I also made it so that they could act independently but then it developed sentience and that led to a small incident." Lin Shen said "So I sealed its consciousness away and told myself to unseal it during emergencies"
Then Lin Shen turned towards the panel and spoke.
"Activate Emergency protocols code black"
Before Sun Rong could process what was happening the Archon's systems flared to life.
"Sorry to disturb your sleep but now is a better time than any other to do this" Said Lin Shen turning towards the ARCHON
"Code black Initiation confirmed proceeding with unsealing of AI" said a voice that came from the ARCHON.
Then Archon's optics brightened
"How long has it been since you sealed me away" said the ARCHON as its restraints released.
"I think it has been six months since then" Replied Lin Shen
"And why did you awaken me now"
"Because we are under attack by five peak nascent soul cultivators and heaven breaker over here is undergoing upgrades and needs more time until he is ready to activate, Hell Bringer is incomplete so I can't activate him now so at least buy some time until Heaven Breaker is ready" Lin Shen said as he tapped a console
"Affirmative" replied ARCHON
Just then drones flew around archons equipping him with:
· Earthshaker: A great sword built to overpower and shatter enemy defenses.
· Aegis: a full body shield that is built to withstand sieges and heavy attacks
· Two Railguns were mounted on both shoulders
And Archon's armor was reinforced
Two wings attached to his back along with additional thrusters.
A minigun was mounted on his back.
More alarms started blaring as the last piece of reinforced armor was fixed on Archon.
"They found the entrance" Lin Shen said his calm demeanor cracking.
"Open it I will go now" said Archon as he moved towards the entrance his reinforced armor reflecting the alarms light.
Outside the base
The assassins gathered around the waterfall their Nascent Soul projections standing in front of it.
"Are you sure this is the place." Asked the lead assassin
"Yes, according to the information sect this is the place" replied another
Just then the ground started vibrating as the waterfall split in half.
And then Archon walked out its tall and Bulky figure blocking the moonlight.
"Intruders" He said his voice carrying across the forest "leave now or face the consequences"
The assassins immediately got into position their Nascent Soul projection in formation.
Then they attacked.
The lead assassin's projection dashed forward and tried to cut him with his claw.
While a second and third assassin were flanking the lead assassin's right and the left sides.
And the fourth assassin provided support from behind.
The fifth assassin supported them from the sky.
Archon blocked the lead assassins strike with Aegis.
The assassins flanking him moved past his shield and tried to attack him from the side.
But Archon activated the mounted Railguns these railguns fired Qi blasts at the enemy the longer the charge the more deadly.
The assassin in the sky tried to land on top of Archon and disable the railguns.
But failed to do so as Archon pulled out the minigun firing concentrated Qi blasts at him.
The Assassin at the back activated sealing formation to lock him in place.
Chains made of Qi surged upward from the Earth around Archons legs and arms preventing him from moving.
But He did not struggle he aimed the railgun at the assassin at the back and charged both railguns and fired them at him.
The first blast broke the shield and the second blast hit the assassin's nascent soul destroying it.
The assassin now suffered from Qi backlash and was immobilized.
Archon took this opportunity and took to the skies to confront the other assassin.
That assassin and Archon clashed his nascent soul claws against metal.
It looked like two shooting stars crashing into each other.
When he was done the other assassin was taken care of.
But now there was another problem Archons left arm was cut off from a sneak attack the lead assassin did.
His shield was broken from the relentless barrage of attacks.
His Qi circuits were smoking sparks flying everywhere.
His reinforced armor cracking at the seams.
The worst part of it was not the damage he took but it was his Qi reserves were stretched thin.
Without Lin Shen's Dantian synchronization Archon's energy reserves are limited even though the consumed energy is being replaced as he fights but the amount of energy he expended and the time needed to replace that energy is not available so Archon does not have enough time.
