Cherreads

Chapter 7 - First Meeting.

The next morning, under the blood scented trees and now dry corpses, a figure could be seen slowly standing up, breaking free from the branches connected to his body.

"Urgh…what…"

CRACK!!

As the branches broke, Cang Tian stumbled forward, transfigured the right side of his body back to normal and slowly opened his eyes, shocked at the difference he felt.

Just looking in a random direction, Cang Tian could see the smallest speck of dust from tens, no dozens upon dozens of kilometers away, through every obstacle without fail.

And, he could feel it getting more powerful by the second. Seeing over the horizon was a feat that could be achieved if he tried hard enough. No, even the composition of atoms and molecules could be seen without much effort.

He could see in all directions at once, in places with absolute darkness, see the faintest distinctions and even beasts who before, had been moving too fast for him to keep up with.

Before his new eyes, they were as slow as snails. Combined with the Rinnegan's natural ability to see invisible barriers, potentially into other dimensions and the flow of profound energy in the body, Cang Tian's eyes had reached no less than divine status.

"It was like I was blind…now, I can see everything."

As Cang Tian scanned the new world around him, two words entered his mind, courtesy of the Rinnegan.

"[Absolute Vision] is what it's called huh? I see…it's not natural. This ability is specific to my Rinnegan."

While some earlier Rinnegan users would gain various abilities like teleportation or the ability to spawn shadows of themselves in different dimensions, Cang Tian's Rinnegan decided to grant him pure Ocular Power that no other set of Rinnegan could compare to.

Cang Tian couldn't imagine how powerful this ability would get as it had just awakened, yet, it was already incredible beyond belief.

Clenching his fists and feeling the new energy within his body, Cang Tian chuckled as he slowly walked away from the scene of horror around him.

'I've reached the first level of the Nascent Profound Realm in one night. Hm…I've only started in the profound way and yet I've achieved so much. I guess…that's to be expected.'

Cang Tian had finally started to accept the role and power that having the Rinnegan came with. He was not just a man anymore, he was starting to accept that he was born as something more, something divine.

And as a divine being, it was time to reclaim what was his. The truth-seeking orb that he had lost prior to the earlier battle.

'I can sense it, but I just can't control it from this distance. It's moving, and I can feel that it's behind some type of barrier. Maybe…a different space?'

Focusing his eyes in that direction, Cang Tian's vision surged across the Scarlet Dragon Mountain Range unhindered , easily locating the truth-seeking orb.

'As I thought.'

The orb seemed to be on the body of a young man located at the center of the Scarlet Dragon Mountain Range, close to the Scarlet Dragon himself.

The young man wore red robes, had long black hair and a fairly handsome countenance. But there were four things that stood out to Cang Tian about the young man.

One, he was currently invisible to the average naked eye as he moved closer to the cave of the Scarlet Dragon. It was probably some treasure that enabled him to do so. Or as Cang Tian guessed, Star-Concealing Grass.

Two, his Profound Veins were…unique to say the least. They were vastly different to the usual type of Profound Veins and Cang Tian could feel as if they carried a 'berserk' nature to them.

'This is the only other human I've seen so far with unique Profound Veins similar to myself. Interesting…'

Three, he had a green pearl with a subspace located within his left palm. The pearl seemed to have great restorative abilities and refining powers judging by the amount of herbs the young man had located within. This was also where the truth-seeking orb was stored.

Lastly, he noticed a young girl located within the pearl. She had blood red long hair and the power emanating off of her was terrifying to say the least. It was at a level that was far above anything Cang Tian had ever encountered. Yet, it seemed as if the young girl was heavily weakened by something. Else, why would she entrust herself to such a weak young man?

'It's poison. Extreme poison. Who could she have been fighting to incur such cruelty?'

Cang Tian also noticed a necklace that gave off slightly similar energy to the Rinnegan on the young man, but the energy it gave off was so paltry that he didn't care about it at this time. Maybe sometime in the future if it managed to catch his attention.

'One thing is for sure. Just like me…this is a guy that's destined for something greater. The heavens don't bless someone that much for no reason. I wonder…just who is he?'

Having confirmed his location, Cang Tian's profound strength surged as he rushed through the forest, dozens of times faster than he was before.

The Nascent Profound Realm was where one was considered Profound Strength began to truly develop and one was considered a true profound practitioner.

Considering the Profound Art Cang Tian cultivated, two types of Profound Strength existed within him at once.

Yin Profound Strength and Yang Profound Strength. They were more fundamental than Dark and Light Profound Strengths, which were already high tier laws. Cang Tian hadn't even begun to tap into their true potential.

Even so, compared to the extraordinary profound potential the Rinnegan held within, those two Profound Energies could only take a back seat.

A purple aura manifested across Cang Tian's body as he ran through the forest, unknowingly sending waves of terrifying strength across space.

Beasts who could not sense him before shivered in fear as they retreated to their own parts of the forest. They dared not peak their heads out.

Unbeknownst to Cang Tian though, his advance wasn't hidden from the young girl with blood red hair.

With her, the dark haired young man hid behind a rock as he watched the Scarlet Dragon and several elite members of the Burning Heaven Clan, one of the four major sects of the Blue Wind Empire, collide.

It was a simple feud. The Burning Heaven Clan wanted the Profound Core of the Scarlet Dragon because it would be beneficial for their cultivation and the beast was at the Sky Profound Realm. Obviously ,the dragon would fight back with all its might.

And so, this high tier battle ensued in the sky, the resulting clash of flame profound energy melting the surroundings with ease.

"Yun Che, something is off! I feel like someone knows that I'm here. My senses are going off like alarm bells in my head."

Yun Che, the name of young man who was invisible, was startled by this fact. How could someone figure out their location so easily? Well him, it was possible. But the girl was in a separate space within his treasure, the Sky Poison Pearl.

"What?! What do you mean, Jasmine?! If someone found you here, then it must be one of your enemies!"

Jasmine immediately shook her head, dismissing that assumption.

"No, if it were someone from that place, we wouldn't even have time to react. From what I can feel, this person is barely in the Nascent Profound Realm, yet…"

Glancing at the small black orb levitating next to her, the seed of realization started to bud within her mind.

"Could it be…that he's after this? My divine sense can't even control it, yet the closer this presence gets, the more it starts to move!"

Yun Che, hearing this clenched his teeth as a bit of frustration flashed in his eyes.

'Dammit! I found this treasure and now you're telling me that it already belonged to someone else?! Some damn mountain hermit?! Tch! I claimed it already, so you'll have to come take it back by force.'

Ignoring Jasmine's words, Yun Che snuck into the cave of the Scarlet Dragon, hoping that his pursuer would find himself stopped by the beast. Even if his pursuer had somehow evaded the dragon like he had, Jasmine was there to kill him.

After all, there was something calling to him inside the cave, and he refused to leave.

Unfortunately, Yun Che had no idea who he was dealing with.

He fumbled around, found some fire herbs and walked to the center of the cave, eventually happening upon the treasure that called to him.

The moment he touched it, the dragon sensed it and rushed inside the cave to confront him, causing the Burning Heaven Clan members outside to sigh in relief.

"That dragon…was actually at the Emperor Profound Realm! Withdraw quickly before it comes back!"

The leader of the men wasted no time as he drew his clan away, eager to grasp this opportunity to escape.

Inside the cave, the dragon had started to attack Yun Che, but the girl, Jasmine forcefully exited the pearl and blocked the attack.

In one move, she executed the powerful dragon, not even leaving it with a full corpse. How terrifying must her true power be.

But, things didn't end that smoothly. The girl passed out, weakened from using the power she kept within to suppress the raging poison.

Yun Che, stricken with grief and desperation, started using his blood to suppress the poison running through her veins.

For about half an hour straight, the boy frantically used his blood to stabilize the girl, ignoring his own health to do so. In time, even he could not take it anymore and he passed out beside her, his efforts managing to show a bit of success.

"How…noble."

Cang Tian watched all of this as he slowly walked into the cave, his heart moved by that display of kindness. How long had it been since he had seen someone so selfless in their pursuit to save another?

'Since I have the ability to, then, I'll offer a hand.'

Walking up to the two of them lying unconscious on the ground, Cang Tian glanced at the Six Paths Yang Seal on his right hand and laid his palm on the upper chest of the girl, causing a similar seal to appear there.

"Urgh!!"

Several smaller black seals spread across her spiritual body, immediately waking her up as her power began to surge once again.

The moment that she could move a finger to activate her power, a red bloody demonic aura surged from her body, the killing intent so pure that every life within several miles around the cave was extinguished upon contact.

But to Cang Tian, it was nothing.

"Who are you?! What did you do to me?!"

Jasmine was extremely on guard against Cang Tian, wary about his true nature and intentions. Even though she wanted to kill him to avoid further trouble from this anomaly, when she felt the changes happening to her, she couldn't hide the shocked expression on her face.

"Cang Tian. As for your condition, I think you can feel it better than I can explain it. If you're wondering why…it's because that man over there moved me. His selfless actions reminded me of a lost loved one."

Jasmine, although wanting to believe him, had faced too many betrayals in her life. There's no way someone who had such strange esoteric techniques that affected the divine could just be some random mortal from the lower realms.

"Tell me, Cang Tian. Which heretical king realm spawned a little demon like you and hid you here?"

Cang Tian raised an eyebrow at this accusation. What was she talking about? King Realm? Hiding him here? Why did she seem so sure?

"Little Miss, I have no idea of whom or what you speak of."

Using her own esoteric methods, she could tell that he was genuinely confused. The man before her was really born in the mortal worlds.

Maybe he just didn't know he had divine heritage? The concentric circles in his eyes and his strange powers were definitely the abilities of some wondrous unique physique. But she had never seen something like this before.

All of these thoughts ran through her head as she lowered her hands, her expression brightening when the overwhelming yang vitality continued to strengthen her body.

Looking at him with a softer expression, she said calmly, "Then, what do you want? As long as it's within my power, I will grant it."

Cang Tian wasn't looking for a gift after healing her, but he wouldn't mind some type of reward. After all, he saw the power the cultivators of the Burning Heaven Clan boasted and his Rinnegan laid their Profound Arts and skills bare before him. If he practiced enough, he knew he could master their powers in no time.

But compared to her, they were ants. Mere lamb to the slaughter. Not even his Rinnegan could decipher her Profound Arts on the first try. If he could get her guidance on martial arts and cultivation, how much farther would he go?

Making his decision, Cang Tian put up two fingers and replied, "One, I'll be taking my truth-seeking orb back. Two…I'd like to be your disciple, Master."
