The space shifted again, and this time Rahim felt it more clearly than before. The presence beyond the system was no longer simply observing. It had begun to act, not aggressively, but decisively. The environment around him tightened in a subtle way, not restricting his movement, but redefining what movement meant within it.
Rahim tried once more.
He stepped forward, pushing his presence outward, attempting to assert himself the way he always had.
Nothing happened.
Not even resistance.
It was as if his action had been erased before it could fully exist.
That was when it hit him.
He was not being stopped.
He was being ignored.
Rahim's eyes narrowed slightly, and for the first time, a faint trace of tension appeared in his expression. Not fear, not doubt, but something closer to frustration. He had always been able to force a reaction, to make the battlefield acknowledge him.
