The moment stretched longer than it should have. Time did not slow, but it felt as if each second carried more weight than before. Rahim shifted his stance slightly, not to prepare for an attack, but to test the space around him. The reaction came instantly, not as resistance, but as acknowledgment. Rahim took a step forward.
