Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: The Descent

The sky did not break this time. It opened.

Rahim noticed the difference immediately. Before, every arrival had been violent, tearing through reality like something forcing its way into existence. But now, what appeared above him felt deliberate. Controlled. As if permission had been granted from a place far beyond the battlefield.

A thin line formed across the sky. It stretched slowly, widening without sound, revealing a layer of darkness that did not belong to night. This darkness was deeper, older, and far more stable than anything Rahim had created with his own power.

He stood still, watching.

The enforcers had already retreated. Not in fear, but in recognition. Their formation had dissolved without command, their presence reduced to observation rather than action.

That alone told him enough.

Whatever was coming was above them.

Rahim exhaled quietly, his mind calm despite the weight pressing down on the battlefield. He had felt pressure before. He had endured it, resisted it, broken through it.

This was different.

This was not pressure meant to crush.

It was presence meant to define.

Something began to descend.

At first, it looked like a figure made of light. Not bright light, but something dim and controlled, shaped with precision. As it came closer, its form became clearer. Tall. Balanced. Human in shape, but far too perfect to be human.

Rahim did not move.

He did not attack.

He waited.

The figure reached the ground without a sound. No impact. No shockwave. Just arrival.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

The space between them felt heavy, not with force, but with meaning.

Then the figure looked at him.

You have forced this stage earlier than expected.

The voice was calm. Not mechanical. Not emotional. Simply certain.

Rahim tilted his head slightly.

Then adjust.

The figure studied him in silence for a few seconds. It did not react to the tone. It did not show irritation or approval. It simply observed.

You do not understand what you are interfering with.

Rahim gave a small breath of amusement.

Then explain it.

No answer came immediately.

Instead, the air shifted slightly, as if something unseen had acknowledged the exchange.

Finally, the figure spoke again.

You are not meant to reach this layer.

Rahim stepped forward.

And yet I did.

That was the first moment something changed.

Not in Rahim.

In the figure.

It moved.
