The battle continued, but it no longer followed the same rhythm.
Before, every movement had been part of a perfect sequence, each action leading seamlessly into the next. Now, there were interruptions. Small breaks in the flow that forced the enforcers to recalculate.
Rahim noticed all of them.
And used every single one.
He moved again, slipping through an attack that should have been unavoidable. The space tried to restrict him, to correct his position, but it wasn't fast enough.
Not anymore.
…You're weakening, Rahim said quietly.
"Incorrect.
The response came instantly, but this time—
It felt forced.
That was when Rahim realized something else.
It wasn't just the structure that had changed.
The system itself—
Was reacting differently.
Before, it had acted with certainty, as if every outcome was already known. Now, there was something else mixed into its behavior.
Uncertainty.
Rahim stopped for a moment, his gaze lifting slightly as if he was looking beyond the battlefield itself.
…You're not in control anymore, are you?
The enforcers didn't answer.
But they reacted.
All five moved at once, their attacks converging on him from every direction. The pressure intensified sharply, the space tightening in an attempt to crush him before he could act.
Rahim didn't retreat.
He stepped forward.
The darkness around him shifted again, aligning closer, responding faster, moving with more precision than ever before.
The attacks reached him—
And failed.
Not completely.
But enough.
Rahim broke through.
For a brief moment, he stood inside their formation, surrounded by the enforcers, the system reacting violently to his presence.
And in that moment—
He felt it.
Something deeper.
Something beyond the system itself.
Watching.
Rahim's eyes narrowed.
…So that's it.
A quiet realization settled in.
The system wasn't the top.
It never had been.
