Chapter 6 - The New Beginning

[System levelled up 1> 2]

Ed was back from that white dimensional space. Now he lay in the bed. A couple of pipes were attached to his wrist and chest, and beside him, a strange, monitor-like device constantly showed his heart rate dropping and rising. Yes, when Ed had lost consciousness, he was carried to the medical center.

'Oh, yeah, I lost consciousness after I …murdered him,' Ed said with grim expression.

'I can't stay like this, I gotta move on,' he said inwardly.

SSShhh!

The door to the medical center slid open as two students and a man in his late 40s entered. Ed immediately recognized the youths.

"Raelith…Evans." He tried to sit up, but pain prevailed, and Ed reluctantly took his former position.

"Kid, stay down. You have broken a couple of ribs here and there," The doctor said as he showed the broken ribs in the X-ray. The shape of his ribs was severe; it was meracle Ed was even alive despite pushing himself beyond breaking ribs, and to top it off, he was against a demonic energy.

"How the hell did you manage to survive. When I saw your bloody wounds, not to mention," Raelith paused as if recalling some nightmarish memory.

"Damn, your arms were in the worst shape, even the doctor thought complete recovery impossible, and here you are with just a few ribs broken, sigh…" Evans continued expression made Ed realize they were really worried and anxious weather Ed would wake or not.

"I apologize for that," Ed said with a bow.

"Kid, your healing speed is unnatural. Someone with injuries like this would need at least 2 months. I'm not even sure if 2 months are enough or not," he said

Somewhere far from here in a desert biome.

"Someone is going to be born, and that person will surpass that man." A man with a plague doctor mask said. His green eyes glowed within the socket of the mask. He wore a white military-like outfit with similar-colored trousers.

"Are you sure?" Asked a voice. It was a women she had dark purple hair and golden eyes, on her back, there was a great sword with a crescent moon shape. She wore a dark blue arcane cloak. On her arms, chest knee she wore silver armor.

"Have I ever been wrong? Who do you think I'm, Sicilia?" The man with the mask spoke.

"Have I ever been wrong with these eyes at my side!!!" The man laughed.

"Yeah, the eyes of ordeal, truly a terrifying ability," Sicilia said

"Abyssal Void Sect, surrender yourselves!!!" A bunch of people with red robes and a strange golden badge hanging from their cloaks appeared. The number far surpassed both. The frontman shouted.

"They found us again, huh? They really are persistent." The masked man said with an annoyed tone.

"These pests never learn!" Sicilia laughed

"Its been 200 years since they managed to track us, I'd like to compliment them haha!" The masked man said with sarcasm and pulled out a pocket watch that resembled one of Victorian style.

"Sicilia, I'll give you 5 minutes; 5 minutes to teach them the lesson we were unable to teach!" The masked man said as he looked at the watch and closed it.

"Nah, Two minute is more than enough!!!" Sicilia's grin widened, and she leaped toward, unsheathing her great sword. And in an instant, Purple energy enveloped the great sword.

"That's the lunar Void bearer, kill her!!!" one of the red robed soldier shouted.

"Lunar eclipse: Sicilia style," Sicilia muttered and slashed horizontal arcs.

The horizontal slash started to increase in size the further it travelled, and when it reached them, their bodies were mutilated without mercy. They didn't have any time to scream; they died in silence, only the sound of the slash when it ended, the last soldier of the attack itself disappeared and returned to the blade. Yes, this was the terror of facing one of the legendary weapon wielders: Wielder of the Great Sword: Lunar Void.

"Let's go," the masked one said

Ed was completely recovered, and he was in top shape. These past few days, he had discovered and observed things that he had simply ignored. First of all, he had obtailed a ability when the system levelled up. "Aspect of souls 0/7", The only explanation the system gave was that he would gain certain abilities each time the conditions were met, but it never clarified what those conditions were.

'What kind of condition are we talking about here?" Ed pondered as he tampered with the system interface.

"Ed its time, let's go." Raelith and Evan entered their dorm room. Today was the day Ed would go and attend his first class. Surprisingly, both Raelith and Evans had chosen combat class along with theory.

When they entered the room, they were greeted with a huge arena-like room. There were already students present. Some were gossiping, others sparing with their mate, while others were practicing their skill.

"What's going on? Aren't we supposed to wait for the professor?" Ed asked

"Not necessarily are students free to do whatever they like," Evans answered.

'I sometimes forget I'm no longer an earthling, I'm Ed Orves, not Kael, ' Ed said inwardly.

Step step step…

Footsteps echoed in the hall. A man entered the room. He had long silver hair tied in a ponytail, golden eyes, he had dark brown skin, wore a blindfold, wore a combat outfit, and a long sword hung beside him.

Clap clap clap.

He drew the class's attention. People from where they were took their stance toward the main arena. Among them, Ed, Raelith, and Evans were in the second row.

"I'm Leonard, your combat professor," said Leonard with a gentle smile. To the naked eye, Leonard seemed to have no aura like other professors, but he was different; he saw far ahead.

Ed now could see clearly Leonard's aura, which was well controlled. His Spirit energy pool was massive but still beneath Ed. But the pressure was monstrous. Ed was certain he was to fight him without a doubt; he would not lose. Even wouldn't get to counterattack.

'Boy, the path you're walking into is quite intriguing. ' Inside Ed's head, a voice spoke. Then he noticed Leonard was looking at him with a smile. He wasn't dumb; he immediately understood it was him!
