With remarkable dexterity, the puppet dodged the incoming assault, allowing the shadow to pass harmlessly through the space it had just occupied. The sudden displacement of air left a faint disturbance in its wake, heightening the tension for both the puppet and the creature, the latter now intensely curious about the beast capable of such incredible speed and aerial prowess.
Recognizing the tactical significance of this speed, the creature issued a precise command: "Do not damage its bones or heart; kill it without causing injury." The puppet registered the directive, its gaze sweeping skyward. As anticipated, a faint shadow reappeared, but this time, the puppet was fully prepared for an encounter.
As the shadow swiftly closed in, the puppet remained steadfast, holding its ground. A sharp, stinging cut grazed its neck, but the puppet, sensing the attack's origin, swiftly extended its fleshy mass in pursuit of the direction from which the shadow had flown. The shadow moved erratically, desperately attempting to evade its pursuers, but their marginal difference in speed caused it to panic. In a desperate maneuver, it attempted a dive back at the puppet, aiming to definitively halt its relentless pursuit.
Anticipating this precise maneuver, the puppet detected the incoming attack from the shadow's appendages. In response, it unleashed numerous other fleshy extensions from its back, momentarily revealing its spine. This sudden revelation startled the shadow, which found itself ensnared by fleshy tentacles from both sides. The tentacles swiftly retracted, securing the captured beast within the puppet's back, its struggles quickly suppressed under the tightening grip.
Sensing its successfully captured target, the puppet retraced its path, returning to the cave. Once there, it bowed once more before the creature. The creature signaled, and the tentacles on the puppet's back unfurled, releasing the shadow into the cave once again.
Perceiving its unfamiliar surroundings, the captured entity immediately attempted to attack the walls and find an escape route from the tunnels. However, the ground beneath it split open, and numerous other tentacles emerged, seizing the creature and dragging it downwards. Its body was rapidly enveloped by shadows, revealing its true form.
It was a black bird, strikingly similar to a raven, but distinguished by a sharper beak, considerably longer talons, and substantially larger claws on its feet. Its feathers carried a faint sheen, as though infused with an energy beyond simple biology. The creature summoned its system screen, and a panel appeared, displaying the following information:
