Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Jackson's Unflattering Ending; Justice Long Overdue

Anderson's jaw tightened. "He is accusing me of kidnapping his daughter."

The room fell deathly silent.

Lydia's face paled, her lips losing their color. Her trembling hands tightened around the glass Rebecca handed her earlier, her knuckles turning white.

"He... he actually did it." She whispered, tears pooling in her eyes.

Rebecca's eyes darkened instantly.

"That bastard," Julian cursed, straightening immediately, all traces of amusement vanishing from his face.

"He's desperate," Anderson slipped the phone back into his pocket, his expression unreadable. "The police are on their way."

Rebecca blinked. "What?"

"They won't dare arrest me," Anderson said calmly, though the coldness in his tone was enough to send chills down the spine of people. "But Jackson isn't trying to get me arrested."

Julian's brows furrowed. "He's trying to make a statement."
