"Eh, wait! What do you mean evaluated? Can you at least slow down before planning to kidnap me
Ren protested, but Sylva wasn't listening because her mind was already three steps ahead.
She sighed as she dragged him foward
"will you pipe your ass down , idiot," she muttered.
"I'm the one getting evaluated not you dumbass
She shoved her hands into her coat pockets, her eyes half-lidded like this was a chore.
"Technically, you can't raid Gates yet unless you're an Awakener. Didn't I tell you that? This is the only plan I have for now, so suck it up and act like a man."
Also I'm kinda shy being Infront of many eyes.
"Ehhh wait, are you being serious right now Ren giggled
Once they stepped outside, Ren let out a long breath and rubbed his neck.....
"So… how are we supposed to get there?"
Sylva glanced back at him
"We are walking obviously isn't it obvious
Ren's face fell his shoulders slumped
"Seriously?"
"Yes, seriously."
They started down the side of the road in silence. The city hummed around them, drones buzzing overhead and holographic ads flickering against the buildings.
But Ren's thoughts wouldn't stay quiet. He kept glancing at Sylva's back, the way she moved like she'd probably seen too much already.
Sigh. If I don't ask now, I probably never will.
"Sylva," Ren called out.
"Hm?"
"Can I ask you some questions please? If you don't mind."
Sylva kept walking, but her eyes flicked toward him. A small smirk tugged at her lips.
"Sure it's obvious you still want answers but since I'm your mentor now, it's only right you know a few things about me."
Ren picked up his pace to walk beside her, relief flashing across his face....
"First, why do you have limiters on you seem very strong is there something you are afraid off ? And wait, before you answer that… I never asked how you knew my mother. Or my uncle. Or so much about me."
Sylva's expression softened for a second.

She stopped mid-sentence as a cold jolt ran through her body. Her eyes sharpened instantly, crimson narrowing like a blade.
She felt it. Faint energy, leaking from somewhere very very close also it was barely there, but it wasn't unmistakable
Without a word, she grabbed Ren's wrist and pulled him forward.
"E-Eii?! Where are you taking me?!" Ren yelped, stumbling to keep up.
"Come on," Sylva said, her voice low and serious now. Her mind raced. This energy… there's no way I'd mistake it.....
Suddenly they both stopped between two narrow buildings, shadows swallowing the alley.
Sylva's eyes widened slightly. Then a grin spread across her face, slow and sharp.
"Yes." a hint of excitement slipped into her voice. "I was right."
She let out a relieved breath, shoulders dropping for the first time since they left.
"serioulsy who knew this sweet will pop up today... I'm so happy this really will save me the trouble of ruining my quiet life."
But Ren blinked, confused, and looked ahead.
A swirling vortex hung in the space between the buildings. It looked eerily familiar, like the one that had dragged him into this world.
"Ehh… wait. Is that a Gate?" Ren asked, frowning
Because something felt really off it wasn't normal sized gate, It was tiny and so small that if it was something physical he would grab it with his hands
"Yes, Ren," Sylva said, stepping closer. Her voice dropped into lecture mode, but her eyes never left the vortex. "That's a Gate."
She stared at the swirling crack in the air.
"As you grow stronger, you'll learn there are two kinds of Gates Normal Gates and abnormal Gates."
This gates are classified tho but now isn't the time for that
Ren narrowed his eyes and stepped forward carefully.
"Normal Gates appear with warnings," Sylva explained. " The warriors get at least twenty days to clear them before a monster outbreak happens."
But that heavenly depends on it's classification
Ren glanced back at the tiny Gate, realization dawning.
"Then this means this one is…"
"Yes," Sylva answered with a small smile. "its an abnormal Gate."
She raised a hand and knocked against the surface.

The sound was solid, and it made a dull sound
"These Gates are sealed from the outside," she said. "For weeks, they only leak small traces of energy while slowly expanding from within."
Her expression darkened. "And once they fully open… a monster outbreak begins."
Ren swallowed, unease crawling up his spine.
"But," Sylva continued, as confidence bled into her tone, "that's not stopping us."
"We're raiding this Gate."
Ren froze, his eyes went wide.
"EHH?! Seriously?
Wait wait why do always intend on me dying he exclaimed... Sigh even if you wants us to how are we supposed to raid a Gate if it's even sealed from the outside?!"
Sylva chuckled and stepped forward, rolling her shoulders.
"It's fine."
Dark energy began coiling around her fists
WHAM!
Sylva's fist slammed into the sealed Gate causing it to crack instantly
Crack....
The surface shattered instantly. Dark fractures spread across the vortex before the entire seal tore apart under the force of her punch.
Ren stood frozen, staring..
"She just… punched through a sealed Gate I didn't notice but Slyva is kinda hot and badass?"
The tiny Gate slowly widened, expanding just enough for the two of them to enter.
Sylva glanced back at him, grin sharp and alive.
"Well? are you coming, or are you gonna stand there all day?"
Ren looked at the Gate, then at her, then back again.
"…Hmmm alright let's get this over with
Eii seriously Slyva chuckled as she chuckled at ren's display of confidence
Don't worry Slyva chuckled with a smurked looking face "we'll see how much more confident you are when you step into the gate"
