Chapter 9
"Slyva…?" Ren's voice cracked through the silence, low and uncertain.
Slyva barely moved, her lips parting as if the words didn't fully belong to her. "Leveled up…" she murmured, slowly
But Ren wasn't listening anymore.
His head snapped toward the flickering black window suspended in his vision. His breath caught.
"…Wait." His voice dropped, sharpened by confusion and unease. "What is going on here?"
His eyes narrowed as the glowing interface pulsed like a living thing.
"This black window…" he whispered, …is it showing me the seal my mother placed on me… as if it were some kind of game system?"
Before Slyva could even form a reply Ding…
A sharp chime sliced through the air.
[Player has unlocked Inventory.]
The words hung in front of Ren's vision, and then another prompt slid into place
[Congratulations on becoming a Player.
Would you like to read the Player Manual?
YES NO]
Ren's body went still.
"…A manual?" he echoed under his breath.
His eyes trembled slightly as they locked onto the floating options.
Then a dry, almost disbelieving laugh escaped him.
"Seriously…" His voice cracked just a little. "It even comes with a manual… for how I'm supposed to use this thing?"
Slyva let out a small chuckle.
"Then why don't you read it?" she stretched casually, turning away as if the situation wasn't anything unusual.
But before she left, she glanced back at him.
"…Looks like you're finally ready to understand what you really are."
Her tone was quieter this time.
But for ren he hesitated, for once, he didn't joke back.
His eyes returned to the floating screen.
[Congratulations on becoming a Player would you like to read the Player Manual?

He spoke out loud, the moment he chose it

The screen expanded violently.

[Manual Reading Complete.]
Ren blinked once.
"…So I guess that should be it." But his voice was low and uncertain...
Across the room, Slyva glanced back over her shoulder, as the strands of hair was sliding across one eye.
"So? Are you finished already?"
But ren didn't answer immediately bro's gaze remained locked on the empty air where the screen had disappeared moments ago
But even his thoughts churned violently beneath the surface.
"…Stats… skills… inventory…" he muttered.
His brows slowly pulled together.
"It really is like a game…"
Slyva turned fully now, folding her arms as she studied him carefully.
"So?" she asked. "Do you understand it?"
Ren let out a slow breath "…Well… not completely."
His hand tightened unconsciously into a fist.
"But I think I understand enough."
Fwish
[Player detected awareness increase.]
[Bonus EXP Awarded.]
[PER +1]
Ren paused.
"…Huh?"
Slyva tilted her head slightly.
"For the love of god what now?"
Ren stared blankly at the floating text
" But I didn't even do anything he mustered within himself"
Another line appeared beneath it.
[System Tip: player awareness improves system synchronization.]
"…Synchronization…" Ren whispered.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"Oo seriously so just thinking about it gives me EXP?"
For a moment, silence filled the room.
Then Slyva turned away from him and began walking toward the far side of the room, her footsteps echoing softly against the cold floor.
"That means," she said calmly, "you can finally start learning what you really are."
Ren scratched his cheek awkwardly and gave a small dry laugh.
"…Yeah, but you still have a lot to tell me, don't you?"
Slyva stopped walking for a while her expression changed slightly
Ding…
Seriously ! what's with these messages don't they ever stop ? Ren said
[ New System Quest Available.]
Ren froze.
"…A quest already?"
Slyva immediately noticed his expression change.
Her eyes narrowed.
"…What's wrong?"
Ren swallowed slightly, still staring at the screen.
"…It says I already have a quest."
Ding…
The moment he finished speaking
A much larger window expanded open before him.
The glowing text pulsed slowly like a living heartbeat.
