Chapter 33 - Security Breach

POV The Queen

I remained still as I saw through the eyes of those other kin of mine. It was the only way to see the outside world from my cell. It was also how I knew they had developed a cure and wanted to use it on me. I was somewhat content staying in this facility, as I had lost hope. But everything changed eight days ago when I saw something on TV. It was him. He looked older, but I was certain it was him. He was still alive. And he was outside. Where I must be. But I wasn't strong enough to escape. I knew that. My captors knew that. So I got that crazy one that they keep in the lowest parts of the facility to cause chaos.

Now all I was waiting for was for them to administer the cure. I didn't want to be a risk to him. So I would let them cure me. Then I would leave this place once and for all.

Pssssss

The sleep gas floods the room, and I control my breathing and heart rate to make them think I was knocked out from it. In reality, the gas had stopped working on me months ago. After they believed I was asleep, they entered the room and tested me with a few prods. Only after they were certain I was asleep did the researchers enter the room with many pieces of equipment. They hook me up to a machine and start administering the cure. I expected to feel a sense of weakness or something similar, but I actually felt stronger. I could feel that the passive sense I had of my powers' ability to infect others diminished until it was gone completely, but what replaced it was a better control over my powers.

'Time to go.'

Slrk

Thud

The noise causes everyone to freeze as they look at the guard, who is now missing his arm. They looked up in horror at me as I then turned and stared at them. Even with the helmet blocking my sight, I could sense them. Which was enough to start rupturing their heads like balloons.

"AHHHH!" a scientist screamed.

I tore them to pieces, and when I was done, I took the keys they had and removed my restraints. Then I started walking through the facility. I wasn't moving too fast as I knew they could be dangerously crafty, so I needed to be cautious. Moments after leaving my cell, the alarms went off, and I knew they would start flooding their way towards me.

"Attention All Personnel! Code Pink! I repeat CODE PINK! Don't let her escape!" screams Trask.

How I wanted to kill him. But I knew it was pointless. He would be long gone before I could get to him. The same would be said for the researchers if I hadn't just killed more than half of them.

Footsteps

I hear the thundering clacking of men as they rush towards me. As soon as I turn the corner, they open fire.

Ratatatatatatatata

Hundreds of bullets are shot at me, but I just walk through it all. Not a single one comes within two meters of me as I block them. They slowly back away while taking turns shooting at me, but it doesn't save them. Once I get close enough, I just use the discarded bullet casing as ammo to launch at them. The casings puncture through their flesh and bones as if they were fired from a gun, causing them to drop one by one.

"AHHHHH!" a guard screams while pulling the pin to a grenade and running at me.

I don't even bother looking at him as I sever the hand holding the grenade and launch it at his allies.

BOOM

The explosion kills over a dozen of them, and those that survive, I finish off swiftly. I repeat it more and more until reaching an elevator that I have to take to get to the next level. Normally, this was where I would be stuck as I needed an ID to use the elevator, but unfortunately for them, the researchers all carry IDs that have full access to the facility.

DING

Ratatatatatatatata

As soon as the elevator doors open, thousands of bullets are fired at me, shredding the elevator. I don't even flinch and toss the other grenade I had picked up.

"GRENADE!" screams a guard, but many can't hear him over the gunfire.

BOOM

Limbs fly all over the place. And I keep walking towards the disorganized guards and start ripping them and cutting them limb from limb. Once I was done, the floors and walls were covered in blood while I was still spotless. Then I moved on. Walking through the halls towards my destination. The exit. I was close. So very close. But first, I had to deal with the last dregs of humanity that called this place home.

"Queen, return to your cell at once!" ordered the head of security.

He wasn't alone. There were 120 men, all armed to the teeth with various guns and weapons. Then there were the 5 kin. They were scared but hiding it well. They clearly knew that fighting me was a death sentence, but since their fathers, as in some scientists, were here, they had to fight to defend them.

I don't move and just look in their direction. I could practically smell the fear from here. The sweat as it falls off the faces of the nervous guards. The nervous gulps as they stare down certain death.

"No," I reply.

RATATATATATATATATATATATATA

Rounds of various calibres are shot at me, and for once, I actually had to be mindful and careful to avoid getting hit. They were firing in a massive burst, but it wouldn't last. But then came what I was waiting for. The missile launchers.

Psssssssshhh

Several missiles are shot at me, and I make them detonate near me so I am obscured, then I use the smoke screen to launch my counterattack. I had collected all the bullets I could, and now they could have them back.

Fwip

Thousands of pieces of metal are launched at them, and it does what I need it to do. Over half of them are killed, and another quarter are injured or otherwise disabled. The last quarter was the security chief and those closest to the traitor kin. I didn't give them a chance to recover. I closed the distance and fought off a traitor kin's attacks while I cut through everyone; they couldn't cover the others or overpower me, so I killed them. If they were killed, the rest would be easy.

"Damn it! We can't hold her! Gas her!" the security captain screams into his radio.

Unfortunately for him, that was the last thing he got to say before I cut his head off. As the gas started to enter the room, I had killed all but nine humans and four of the traitor kin. All of them put on a gas mask, but that was their fatal mistake. They thought the poison gas would work on me. But all they did was make it harder for them to see me while I could sense where they were.

"NO! It didn't work on her! She's still awake!" screams one of the traitors right before I crush their head.

"I can't take this! I'm getting out of here!" screams a guard.

"No, don't!" screams a scientist.

Both of them are killed moments later, and I move on to striking at the other traitor kin. The third one was caught off guard and killed easily. But the fourth one was not as easy, and she managed to fight back enough that the last traitor could arrive and save them from death. But that came at a cost of a mortal wound, which slowed them down enough for me to kill them. The surviving traitor took her father and fled, leaving the other humans to their fate.

'Coward.'

Once they were dead, I didn't pursue the fleeing traitor. They fled deeper into the facility, and I would be a fool to follow them. I walked towards the exit, and a massive gate closed behind me.

'Damn it.'

I tried to break the metal doors, but they were far too thick to break. At least they could contain me before, but now. I had one last idea. I start to vibrate as fast as I can, and then I strike the door and start to cause it to vibrate as well.

BZZZZZZZZZZ

CRACK.... BOOOOM

The explosion was deafening, but for the first time in decades, I saw the sky again. I walked out of the destroyed doorframe and looked out in front of me, where I saw several tanks and helicopters pointed at me.

"Turn back now! Or we will destroy you!" Trask threatens.

My answer is a jump using my hands to land in their midst, and I start destroying everything I can touch using the new vibration abilities. I could tell my increase in power was temporary, so I needed to eliminate their ability to pursue me now before I lost that boost.

Sometime Later...

I breathe heavily as I walk away from the fight. I had managed to destroy much of what they had, but I could feel my powers weakening by the second, causing me to have to flee. But I should have at least crippled most of their ability to pursue. I also took some hits as it was inevitable. But at least I was free now. Though I needed to find some clothes. And I needed to hide my hair. Pink was too noticeable.

Gurgle.

'And food. I need food.'

All that fighting has made me very hungry. And I felt my head start to spin as my vision darkened.

"No... Not now," I say weakly as I slip and fall into a river.

As I hit the water, my vision goes dark, and I pass out.
