[Flashback]
"Fuck" I yelled as I fell down, "shit"
The guys and I decided to play some football and I was getting my ass kicked.
"Seriously Moore, just sit your ass down, you're embarrassing me" a member of my team said as he rubbed his temple in frustration.
"Yeah dude, just sit this game out please" another one said.
I looked between my team mates and it seems like they all agree to what our qb is saying.
I rolled my eyes and stood up. I dusted my pants and walked over to where my stuffs were, I took my bag and just started walking away.
I heard a few protests but I didn't care, I'm already pissed off. If they want to 'win' without me, then I might as well just leave, why would I stay there and watch them.
I walked home and heard noise coming from the kitchen. I kept my bag by the kitchen door and walked in.
In the kitchen, my mom, dad and mr Alvaro were seated talking about something.
"Oh, hey son" my father was the first to notice me.
"Hi did" I greeted him. "Hi mom, hi mr alvaro"
I got a hi back from the two, I went over to the fridge and took a cold bottle of water and downed it.
"How was the football game?" My father asked which made me let out a loud groan.
"They cut you off?" He said and I nodded.
"I'm sorry baby, better luck next time" my mother said as she walked over to me and pulled me in a hug.
Just then I heard someone running.
"Mace" I heard an excited voice making me release my mom.
"Mace you're back" he said excitedly as he jumped up and down.
"Hey Demon" I said making him pout at me, I heard our parents laugh at him.
I started calling him Demon because he wanted me to give him a nickname, I jokingly called him demon and when I saw he got mad at the name I decided to start calling him that.
"I've told you I hate that name" he said as he gave me a stank eye.
"And I've told you, I don't care" I said ruffling his hair, he swatted my hand away and rolled his eyes.
"You don't seem to be in a good mood" he said which made me smile.
"Yeah, I got cut from the team because I wasn't playing well" I shrugged as I walked out of the kitchen, I heard him follow me.
"Well that's fucked up" he said which made me side eye him. "I'm sorry" he immediately apologized.
"Yeah it is but I don't care, at least now I'll have some free time" I walked into my room and he followed.
"Yeah, free time to spend with me" he said as he gave me a large grin.
"Sure kid" I ruffled his hair again and he let out a groan.
"Stop calling me that, I'd rather you call me demon"
"Okay" I laughed "kid"
He charged at me and we began wrestling.
He must have forgotten that I'm stronger than him, because I immediately put him in a headlock.
We played around for an hour before we decided on watching TV.
"Are you in a good mood now Mace?" I heard making me look to my left. I saw him looking at me with a small smile.
"Yes I am, thank you Damian" I reached to ruffle his hair but stopped.
He laughed and brought his head closer so I can do it and I did.
[Flashback over]
Me:

Was what I replied with. I was going to say no because I was in a sour mood, but I'll have to tell him about what went down, and lowkey, I just want to hang out with him.
He always has a way of getting me into a good mood.

An hour later.
"Hey mace" Damian said as he moved closer to me, he had his arms wide open.
I let out a sigh before I moved closer to him and hugged him back, I heard him let out a small sigh as he pulled me even closer.
We stayed like that for a few minutes before I tapped his back to let me go.
"You don't look like you're in a good mood" was the first thing he said as he pulled away from the hug, he still had his hands on my arms staring right at me.
"Did the assignment not go well?"
"It did" I replied sadly
"Then what's wrong" he motioned for us to take our seat, but instead of him moving to sit in front of me, he sat on the chair beside me.
"We got to the location, it was going smoothly, but something happened and they noticed us, they ran away and we were able to get them, so we take them in for questioning and I just had my back turned for a few minutes and boom, he's dead" I narrated my whole day to him.
I don't know how the shooter was able to get in and out without being caught, and that has been eating me up since.
"I'm sorry Mace" Damian said as he brought his hand to grab mine, he started rubbing his thumb at the back of my hand.
"It's fine Damian, I'm really thankful for your help and I'm sorry you went through all that risk just for me to lose the guy"
"I'll go through any form of risk for you mace, please don't ever apologize" he gave me a small smile which made me return one back to him.
"You really don't have t-" I was cut off by him
"I really want to, I need to bring that man down, he has hurt the people I love and-" he couldn't finish his words, his eyes darted to the table.
"What's wrong Damian, is there more to the story?, is there a bigger reason why you still work for this man?" He looked very sad, his eyes seem to be holding both sadness and anger.
"Mace" he let out a sigh, "I have a little brother" he said
"Excuse me?" I was in shock, I never knew he had a brother, but then again, the last time I saw him was like twenty years ago so it did make sense that he could have a little brother.
"I have a little brother, luis, he was out with his friends one day, and Salazar just took him, he took him and he's holding him over my head, he won't let me leave, I've tried but he has my hands tied mace, if I can just help you arrest him, maybe I'll have my little luis back with me" he looked ready to cry.
"Oh Damian" I said as I brought him in for a hug. I heard him sniffle which made me hug him even tighter.
"I'm so sorry Damian, I promise we're going to get salazar and we're going to get your brother back" I promised him.
"Thank you Mason" he mumbled on my shoulder.
We hugged like that for a few minutes before the waiter came around to take our order, we ordered and ate.
He dropped me off and I went straight to bed.
