By the time evening arrived, the tension around Creekside High had grown heavier than anyone expected.
What started as curiosity had slowly turned into fear.
Students were no longer just reading the posts from Creek Secrets for entertainment. Now they were reading them because they were afraid their name might appear next.
Inside group chats, accusations were flying everywhere.
Friendships were already starting to break.
Mia lay on her bed, staring at the glowing screen of her phone. The last comment from the Creek Secrets account still sat in her mind.
"Someone here knows me."
The words felt deliberate.
Personal.
Like a warning.
Her thoughts drifted back to school earlier that day. Something had felt off, but she couldn't fully explain it yet.
There had been a moment in the hallway — a quick expression on Riley's face before she hid it.
It was subtle.
But Mia had noticed.
She sat up, suddenly feeling restless.
Her phone buzzed again.
It was a message from Alex.
Alex:
You still thinking about the post?
Mia replied almost immediately.
Mia:
Yeah. Something feels wrong.
A few seconds passed before another message appeared.
Alex:
Jamie wants us to meet tomorrow before class.
Mia frowned slightly.
That meant Jamie was worried too.
And when Jamie started worrying, things were usually serious.
The next morning, the sky over Creekside looked gray and heavy, as if even the weather understood something was wrong.
Students arrived at school earlier than usual, many of them already discussing what the next secret might be.
Rumors were spreading fast.
Some people believed the account had inside access to school records.
Others thought someone was hacking phones.
But a few students had started whispering something else.
Something more unsettling.
That the person behind Creek Secrets was someone everyone trusted.
When Mia reached the front gate, she immediately spotted Jamie standing near the entrance with Alex.
Jamie looked like he hadn't slept much.
"That bad?" Mia asked as she approached.
Jamie rubbed the back of his neck. "I stayed up reading the comments."
"Same," Alex said. "People are losing their minds."
"Not just that," Jamie added quietly. "Someone messaged me last night."
Mia's expression changed.
"What kind of message?"
Jamie pulled out his phone and showed them.
It wasn't from a known account.
Just a new profile with no picture.
The message read:
"Be careful who you trust."
Mia felt a chill run down her arms.
Alex exhaled slowly. "Okay… that's creepy."
Jamie nodded.
"Whoever is doing this… they're watching us."
Just then, footsteps approached.
Riley and Zoe walked toward them.
Zoe looked tired and slightly annoyed, but Riley looked calm as always.
Too calm.
"What's going on?" Riley asked.
Jamie hesitated before explaining about the message.
Zoe frowned immediately. "That's messed up."
Riley looked thoughtful rather than scared.
"Maybe someone's just trying to scare you," she said.
Jamie shook his head.
"No. This feels intentional."
Mia watched Riley carefully.
There was something about the way Riley reacted to everything — not surprised, not worried, just curious.
Almost like she was studying the situation.
Or maybe even enjoying the mystery.
Before Mia could think deeper about it, the bell rang loudly.
Students began rushing into the building.
But as they walked down the hallway, something unexpected happened.
A crowd had formed near the lockers.
People were whispering again.
Phones were out.
Mia's heart sank.
Another post.
Someone opened the page and gasped.
"Oh no…"
Jamie quickly checked his phone.
Then his expression darkened.
"It's a new post."
Everyone leaned closer.
This time, it wasn't just a rumor or a blurry image.
It was a clear photo.
A picture taken late at night behind the school.
Two figures were visible in the image.
One of them looked familiar.
Too familiar.
Students started murmuring loudly.
"Wait… isn't that—"
"No way…"
"Is that Jamie?"
Mia's heart dropped.
The picture wasn't perfectly clear, but it was enough to make people start talking.
Jamie stared at the screen, stunned.
"I wasn't even there last night," he said.
But the whispers had already begun spreading.
Zoe looked furious.
"This is getting out of control."
Alex stepped closer to Jamie. "Someone's setting you up."
Riley remained quiet, looking closely at the photo.
Almost analyzing it.
Then she said something that made Mia uneasy.
"That angle looks like it was taken from the old security building."
Jamie looked at her.
"How do you know that?"
Riley shrugged casually.
"I've walked around the campus a lot."
Mia felt something shift inside her.
It was a small detail.
But it stuck in her mind.
Because Riley had recognized the location very quickly.
Almost too quickly.
Just then, another notification appeared under the post.
A new message from the Creek Secrets account.
Students quickly opened it.
And the hallway went silent.
The message read:
"Truth always starts with the strong ones."
Jamie clenched his fists.
"This person wants to start a war."
Mia slowly looked around the group.
For the first time since this started…
She began to wonder if the danger wasn't just outside their circle.
Maybe the real problem was much closer than they realized.
And somewhere in the hallway, someone quietly watched everyone react.
Someone who already knew exactly what would happen next.
