The Legion moved through the "Glass Tunnels," a secret path revealed by the Archivist. Soren kept Mika tucked against his side, their Bond humming like a live wire.
As they emerged onto a snowy ridge, they were met by a wall of shields. A man with a scarred face and cold blue eyes stepped forward. This was Commander Silas, a veteran of the Southern Borders who had brought 500 fresh soldiers.
"I heard the Sovereign had fallen," Silas said, his voice like gravel. He looked at Mika with deep skepticism. "I didn't expect to find him being led by an Omega with glowing hands. Is this a war, Soren, or a circus?"
"It's a revolution, Silas," Soren growled, stepping into the Commander's space. "And if you want to keep your rank, you'll bow to the person who just saved this Legion from the smelting vats."
Silas didn't bow yet, but he lowered his sword. "Vane has occupied the Summit Keep. He's using Morrigan, a Highland Seer, to conjure a blizzard that never ends. If we don't move now, the mountain becomes our tomb."
