Chapter 16 - Heaven’s Wrath

When the Archangel died, the universe did not celebrate.

It trembled.

Because something fundamental had just changed.

For endless ages, Heaven had been absolute. Untouchable. Unquestioned. Unchallenged.

But now, a single event had cracked that absolute truth.

An Archangel… had fallen.

And Heaven… felt anger.

The Hall of Judgment

The Hall of Judgment was silent, but the silence was different now.

Before, it was calm.

Now, it was heavy.

Thousands of angels stood in perfect formation, but none of them spoke. At the center of the hall, the Gate of Light was fully open, and a massive pressure filled the entire space.

The voice from the Gate spoke slowly:

"Report the situation."

A twelve-winged angel stepped forward. This was not a normal angel. This was one of Heaven's highest authorities.

"Report," the angel said.

"Archangel Xuan Gabriel has been confirmed dead. Soul signal erased. Weapon destroyed. Authority returned to Heaven."

Silence.

Then the voice asked:

"Cause of death?"

The twelve-winged angel replied:

"Demon General Lin Ye and Demon Strategist Wu Ming worked together. They used a large-scale demonic formation to cut the Archangel's connection to Heaven, then killed him."

The pressure in the hall increased.

Some lower angels began to tremble.

"So," the voice said slowly,

"they have learned how to kill Archangels."

No one replied.

Because it was true.

Heaven Changes Strategy

After a long silence, the voice gave a new order:

"From this moment onward, the Demonic Path is classified as a Universal Calamity."

The angels' expressions changed.

Universal Calamity was not a small title. It meant the threat level was now equal to:

World-ending disasters

Cosmic beasts

Fallen gods

Reality corruption events

And now—

The Demonic Path had joined that list.

"New orders," the voice continued.

"We will no longer treat this as a localized infection."

"This is a war."

The word war echoed across the hall like thunder.

"Deploy the Archangel Legions."

"Deploy the Purification Armies."

"Seal all lower world gates."

"Begin large-scale extermination of demonic cultivators."

"And…"

"Locate Mo Wudao."

The Gate of Light slowly began to close.

"This time," the voice said,

"We destroy the source."

In the Void — The Demon Ancestor

Mo Wudao was sitting on his throne, looking at the Great Demonic Script.

He did not look surprised.

He did not look worried.

He looked… interested.

"Universal Calamity," he said softly.

"That's a high evaluation."

The Demonic Script floated in front of him, pages turning rapidly. Names kept appearing.

Hundreds of names.

Thousands of names.

Millions of names.

Every time Heaven attacked a world, more people opened the black book.

Every time Heaven killed "demons," more people wanted revenge.

Mo Wudao smiled faintly.

"War is the best teacher," he said.

"And Heaven just declared war on the entire universe."

He stood up slowly and looked into the endless darkness.

"Good," he said.

"Then let's make this war… unforgettable."

Lin Ye — The War Begins

On Beiming World, Lin Ye was sitting on a mountain of corpses.

Not enemies.

Warriors.

After the death of the Archangel, the war tribes of Beiming World had gone crazy. They worshipped strength, and Lin Ye had killed a god.

To them, Lin Ye was no longer a man.

He was a War Demon.

Thousands of warriors knelt below the mountain.

"Demon General!" they shouted.

"Demon General!"

"Demon General!"

Lin Ye stood up and looked at them.

"Heaven is coming," he said.

"Not one angel."

"An army."

The warriors did not look scared.

They looked excited.

Because this world respected only one thing—

War.

Lin Ye raised his black sword.

"Good," he said.

"Then we will give them a war."

Wu Ming — The Empire of Demons

On the broken half of Qingyun World, Wu Ming had done something very different.

He did not build an army first.

He built a system.

Cities were reorganized.

Resources were redistributed.

Weak demonic cultivators were grouped and trained.

Information networks were built.

Spies were sent to other worlds.

Formations were built across the land.

In just a short time, the chaotic demonic outbreak had turned into something else.

A Demonic Civilization.

One of his followers asked him:

"Sir, why are you not expanding to other worlds like Demon General Lin Ye?"

Wu Ming replied calmly:

"Because uncontrolled expansion is how you lose a war."

"Lin Ye is the sword."

"I am the brain."

He looked at the sky, which still had cracks from the Purge.

"Heaven will come again," Wu Ming said.

"But this time…"

"We will be ready."

The Second Archangel Legion

In space, above a nameless world, the sky opened again.

But this time—

It did not send one Archangel.

It sent ten.

Behind them were thousands of angels in silver armor — the Purification Army.

At the front was a different Archangel.

Eight wings.

White armor.

A spear instead of a sword.

"Archangel Unit 3," one angel said.

"Commander: Michael Yuan."

"Objective: Exterminate Demon General Lin Ye."

The Archangel looked at the world below and said only one sentence:

"Begin purification."

And the army descended.

Mo Wudao's Plan

In the void, Mo Wudao looked at the Demonic Script and then waved his hand.

Two names began to glow:

Lin Ye

Wu Ming

Then a third page began to form.

A new name.

A new demon.

Mo Wudao smiled.

"Two generals are not enough to fight Heaven," he said.

"So let's create more."

The Demonic Script began to shine across the universe again.

Somewhere, in another world, another abandoned person would open the book.

Another demon would be born.

Mo Wudao stood in the void and spoke as if he was speaking to the entire universe:

"Heaven calls me evil."

"Heaven calls me a calamity."

"Heaven calls me the enemy of order."

"Good."

"Because I am not trying to be a hero."

"I am not trying to save the world."

"I am not trying to become a king."

"I am trying to become something else."

"I am trying…"

"To become the Origin of a New Law."

The Demonic Script opened.

Black light spread across the universe like a second night sky.

"Let there be demons," Mo Wudao said.

And across countless worlds…

People began to find the black books again.
