Sacha's eyes widened, then a grin slowly spread across her face as she said softly, "I won."
Stan leaned back and Sacha suddenly threw both hands into the air.
"Yes!"
She laughed, looking first at Camilla and then at Stan.
"You two weren't able to beat me this round after all!"
She looked particularly pleased with herself, "Finally I've won!"
Stan simply smiled. He said nothing. Inside, however, he felt a quiet satisfaction.
'I did it. Sis won.'
And that was all he had wanted. He didn't care that he had technically played a weaker game. He didn't care that his own hand had been deliberately kept in an awkward position.
Seeing his sister's genuine happiness was worth it. Sacha was still celebrating when Stan noticed that Camilla hadn't moved.
Her crimson eyes were fixed directly on him. Not angry or accusing. Just intensely observant.
Stan's smile faded slightly. He already knew what that look meant. She had felt it. She just hadn't figured it out.
