Hours later, Stan arrived at the company's private aviation facility on the outskirts of the city.
As he stepped out of the vehicle, three suited executives stood waiting at the entrance to the private terminal. Their posture was crisp, their expressions respectful, their demeanor carefully restrained, the polished professionalism of a company dealing with a discreet, high-value client determined to prove it understood exactly who he was.
The man at the front, a tall, silver-haired executive in his sixties whose effortless composure spoke of decades negotiating aircraft sales at the highest level, stepped forward and extended a hand.
"Mr. Stan. Welcome. I'm Klaus Werner, Senior Director of Client Services. We've completed every modification you requested. If you'll follow us, we'd be pleased to walk you through the aircraft."
Stan shook his hand.
"Thank you."
