Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 Even The Release of GTA 6 Wouldn't Help

Having slaughtered a large number of police officers, the crab-man's gaze fell on Sato Miwako. He licked his lips greedily and said excitedly,

"Oh oh, looks like I don't need to go to Okubo Park."

Seeing the crab-man's look, Sato Miwako knew exactly what vile thoughts were running through his head.

After all, she was very popular at the Metropolitan Police Department, always called the flower of the First Investigative Division.

Watching him approach step by step, Sato Miwako quickly drew her pistol and fired repeatedly.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Facing such small-caliber bullets, the crab-man couldn't even be bothered to dodge. He simply raised his pincer and casually flicked the bullets aside as if swatting flies.

"Hehe~ Don't worry. I'll make you feel pleasure like never before. But if I accidentally kill you, don't blame me, hahaha!"

With his body monsterized, his abilities in a certain area had been terrifyingly enhanced.

It can be said that monsters really do have... monstrous skills!

Just as those pincers, still stained with her colleagues' blood, reached for her, Sato Miwako turned pale, despair threatening to consume her.

Bang—!

But just as Sato Miwako was about to close her eyes in despair, a deafening crash exploded.

She opened her eyes to see a figure, like a heavenly warrior descending, kicking the crab-man's left pincer with tremendous force.

The pincer that could easily block bullets shattered from that single kick!

"Gwaah—!"

The crab-man let out a shrill cry of pain, clutching his left arm and roaring in fury, "Who the hell are you?!"

As the figure landed steadily, Sato Miwako finally saw who it was… Mouri Ran.

"Team Makoto. Mouri Ran."

Ran faced the crab-man, striking a hand-knife starting pose similar to Guy and Lee's, her tone calm and sharp.

"Ran, you're too slow!"

Shinichi sighed in relief, then couldn't help but complain.

Yes, he had contacted not only Sato Miwako but also his childhood friend.

With her back to Shinichi, Ran rolled her eyes. "Have you thought about how far I live from here?"

Ten minutes later.

Another wave of sirens wailed. Several forensic officers in white coats from the Metropolitan Police Department's Identification Section quickly got out of police cars and loaded the crab-man's corpse onto a van to be taken away.

'Is he someone else chosen by the Reincarnation Game?'

Ran wondered silently.

"Ran!"

Just then, Kogoro, who had rushed over upon hearing the news, hugged his daughter tightly.

Kogoro might have had many faults, but his love for his daughter was undeniable, even if he usually caused her trouble.

He was no longer wearing a police uniform.

After witnessing Makoto's terrifying power firsthand yesterday, and after repeated persuasion from his daughter and estranged wife, he had resigned from the Metropolitan Police Department and decided to open a detective agency, just like in the original work.

The funding was provided by Eri.

"Dad, I'm fine..."

Ran's words were interrupted as someone gently pulled her away.

It was Eri, who had also rushed over upon hearing the news.

"Uncle, Auntie, you're overreacting. A guy like that was no match for Ran. She's as strong as a monster."

Shinichi walked over and said casually.

The moment the words left his mouth, he was met with three icy death glares.

Ran was angry because Shinichi called her a monster.

Kogoro and Kisaki were angry because this boy had dragged their daughter into such a dangerous situation.

Shinichi scratched his head, completely baffled by what he had said wrong.

"Ran, let's go!"

Eri took Ran's hand, ready to leave.

Before, in the Naruto World, she had thought Shinichi and Makoto were six of one, half a dozen of the other. But now, in comparison, Makoto was clearly superior.

"Please wait, Attorney Kisaki, we have some questions..."

Seeing this, Sato Miwako quickly tried to call out to them.

"Get lost!"

Eri didn't bother being polite, her tone icy cold.

'I came here kindly to warn you before, and all I got was mockery and disdain. Now that Makoto has slapped you down, you come begging for my help?'

Just then, Shinichi looked at the pools of blood not yet dried on the ground and couldn't help muttering in complaint:

"Damn Makoto. If it weren't for him, none of these people would have died!"

Ran, who had been about to follow her mother, stopped dead in her tracks.

She slowly turned around, her eyes filled with confusion.

"What does this have to do with Sensei?"

At that moment, at the gates of Totsuki Academy, which spanned seven mountain ranges on the outskirts of Tokyo.

Thousands of students were blocked outside the school. Although it was almost time for class, the gate remained firmly shut, showing no sign of opening.

The Director of Totsuki Academy, Senzaemon, and the Principal of Shuchi'in Academy, Adolphe Pescarolo, stood guard at the gate. Behind them stood ten students of remarkable bearing.

Tomoya couldn't help muttering, "What the hell? After what happened yesterday, we still have to come to school?"

He had spent the whole night online in his capacity as a blogger, reviewing newly released games.

It was the only thing he had going for him.

But after the huge commotion Makoto had caused yesterday, even if GTA 6 were released, it wouldn't generate much discussion. Who would be looking at Tomoya's game reviews?

Other students were also gossiping.

Alice looked at her sidekick, Kurokiba Ryo, and asked in confusion, "Hey, Ryo-kun, why won't Grandpa let us in?"

Ryo, looking like he hadn't quite woken up, scratched his head. "Not sure. But I think I heard the Director this morning say they were waiting for someone. I just got up, so I didn't hear clearly."

Alice blinked, looking at her grandfather and the line of Totsuki's Elite Ten Council standing behind him.

'For Grandpa to personally lead such a lineup, it must be someone as important as the Prime Minister, right?'

'But... didn't the Prime Minister die yesterday?'

Just then, a series of exclamations rose from behind Alice and the others.

Instantly, the thousands of students gathered at the gate of Totsuki Academy parted like a flock of sheep seeing a tiger, hastily creating a path.

This commotion sent a strong sense of foreboding through Tomoya… he had seen scenes like this more than once in the Naruto World.

He spun around. Sure enough, it was that man.

Tomoya gritted his teeth silently, watching as Makoto walked in the center of everyone's attention, surrounded like a star. As always, a group of exceptionally beautiful and poised girls followed behind him.

"Is that Kaguya-sama from the Shinomiya Family?"

Just then, a girl next to Tomoya whispered.

"Shinomiya? As in the Shinomiya Group, one of the Four Zaibatsu?"

Tomoya's expression changed slightly.

Then, two more figures emerged from the crowd and joined the group behind Makoto.

Tomoya's face instantly darkened further… those two were Utaha and Megumi.

"Sensei-kun~"

Utaha's alluring lips pouted slightly, her tone carrying a hint of grievance. "Where did you go last night? We looked for you for ages."

Before Makoto could answer, Marina stepped forward and said quietly, "We'll tell you later. This isn't something to discuss in public."

Makoto had told them the truth about his bluff. This was definitely not something to be leaked in front of so many people.

Seeing Marina's serious expression, Utaha and Megumi sensed the gravity of the situation, nodded lightly, and asked no further.
