Maya felt a hand close over her heart. The marriage certificate was stolen; Keenan had said so. As she could recall, he didn't have any reaction toward it and had simply chased her off.
Was it really unimportant? Maya didn't know what to say, didn't know what to think. All that echoed and resonated in her head was that they weren't really married.
