Hopes mind entered a trance, her body treading steps she had not willed. Soon enough her vision faded and her eyes fluttered open, greeted by an adorable creature covered in layers of thick fur.
'What is this thing..? No, what?'
Her head rung, and memories flooded into her mind. Gripping her temple and attempting to regain her balance, she laid her head down and closed her eyes.
'What if I stop fighting it..?'
She realized that she had always went against an urge her mind had to resurface memories, purely because she had no time to think.
After some contemplating she decided to risk it and allowed the pull on her mind to take grasp, leading her to a radiant stream of visions that reminded her of a solar aurora.
'What's… what's an aurora? Why does it feel so familiar…?'
The less she tried, the more she recalled everything. That creature had been her dog Ray and the bed she woke up in had been her old home.
'Old home?! What happened to me..?'
At that moment, the visions stopped, interrupted by a violent crack of thunder.
The scenery around her changed, marble pillars rose and along with it, several other structures of the same material.
Suddenly she found herself in a temple, on her knees, with a blade to her neck. Her neck moved up, and her eyes furrowed in anger. However, she had not made these actions herself.
"R##u#l, u traitor !"
Hope spat to the ground, aiming to dirty the entities clothes. However it phased through it and it; which she now realized was a he; stepped into view revealing amber eyes and a distressed look.
"You perceive the world only through one view, but the Others have provided us a path, a path to salvation! Why must we be bound such rules stated by our dead father?! Why can't you see that this is best!?"
He argued, seemingly trying to plead with the body she was inhabiting, deep inside, Hope felt every word pull her to his side, alluring her view to fit his.
Then a sudden surge of anger rose from her, Hope realized at this moment that the body she had seemingly possesed was her own, the eyes of the second being had reflected the lightning, allowing her to see her own face, beaten and bruised, yet full of unbreaking resolve.
"You dare attempt mind hex on me!? How low has justice fallen for any being full of corruption to shape it to their will? "
Hope snarled. Then something eerie happened, the mask of concern covering his face broke, and a joyous grin replaced it in its stead. However, a hint of insanity had also filled his eyes, revealing that he had been deceiving Hope all along.
'This mind hex was malevolent, I never realized I was under it the whole time…'
Suddenly another strike of lightning broke the silence and Hope opened her eyes.
What laid in front of her was the beast, in all of its hideous glory, however, countless cut marks littered its body and its other arm had been reduced to scraps.
"What in the hell…?"
Hope looked down and realized her body was not in much better shape. Suddenly, the pain hit, her whole body convulsed as every injury she had sustained while out of control, decided to lash at her all at once.
Hope sprawled on the ground screaming and clutching her body, instinctively curling into a ball.
The beast had seen the sudden change in its predator, and swiftly lashed forward, already at the edge of insanity.
