Nina stared at him in complete, unadulterated disbelief, her eyes wide as saucers as she looked between the man standing inches from her face and his little five-year-old son sitting on the stool, happily swinging his feet while munching on his cookie. Surely, she thought, a grown man couldn't actually be jealous of a child's affection. And yet here they were.
"I cannot actually believe what I am seeing," Nina gasped, her breath catching as she pressed both of her palms firmly against his broad, solid chest to keep some semblance of sanity between them. "So you're competing with your son now, Mr. Grant? A five-year-old? That is so utterly, outrageously shameless!"
