One day of Albert's internship with Mirko.
The two of them are resting by a convenience store. Their clothes were ragged and dirty from all the villains they encountered.
"Your pretty tough." Mirko said carbo-loading.
"Thanks, I haven't ran this much in a long time." Albert said drinking some vitamin water with jelly packs for food.
"Yeah…" Mirko looks him in the eye to eyes. "You have pretty blue eyes."
Mirko was suspicious of him from his time at the Sports Festival. But only when they spent time together did her suspicions grow of him.
Albert didn't even hesitate, he couldn't.
"I do, my mom has them as well."
"What's her name?"
"Couldn't get it. My old man got me in the divorce, she also never tried to win custody. Says a lot when it was done in America."
"You never asked?"
"My old man was a… well he's a angry drunk. Only reason I'm here is I worked my ass off to get here."
"He taught you how to use that gun?" Mirko looked at Chisato by Albert's hip.
"Hunting rifle. He is as American as they come, he loves his guns. Ingrained in me the Second Amendment, not very much the other ones."
"Hmm~"
Mirko didn't know where to go from here. She had winged it hoping he was the person from the warehouse.
'I don't know jack shit about America!? Grr…'
From the way Albert moved he could easily overpower her; she knew this well from their run in with villains of superior strength to herself. His body was nimble and quick enough to keep up with her leaps.
Yet he still evaded her.
'Tsk! It's only a matter of time.' Her only option was to wait and scrounge where she could. Albeit now with some hesitation. 'I would be lying if I didn't actually like the kid.'
Despite her suspicions she enjoyed his company, a person who can match her way, her style. He did it without complaint and with efficiency, her orders listened and followed.
Had he be older she would have had a crush, but for the boy she had only respect.
"Alright this is enough resting. Our bodies are still warm and there is still a couple hundred kilometers to Hosu." Mirko stands back on her feet.
"Hm." Albert downs his food and drink, crushing them and putting them in the recycling bin. "Ready when you are."
'If he is that boy from the warehouse I…Can have him serve his prison time as my sidekick? Would that count as community service?'
"Lets go!!" She shouted hopping away.
Albert followed along, he had only one thought.
'She has a good instinct, but if the rabbit gets to close a bullet had her name on it.'
Its as they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer so you can begin to gaslit them and affect their decisions with personal feelings.
