Jay Jay's POV
Everything was normal.
We were just sitting together like always.
His hand was in mine, not tight, not loose… just there. Like it had always belonged there.
He had kissed my forehead earlier without even thinking about it.
I didn't react.
I never really do anymore.
It's just… him.
And then—
it hit.
A sound.
Sharp. Sudden.
Not even close to us.
But my body reacted before my mind could understand why.
My grip on his hand tightened instantly.
Then everything felt wrong.
Too loud.
Too fast.
My chest felt tight, like I couldn't get enough air in.
I blinked, trying to focus, but everything blurred in and out.
My hand slipped slightly from his without me realizing.
And that made it worse.
For a second, I wasn't even sure where I was.

Keifer's POV
I felt her hand change first.
That's enough.
I turned immediately.
She wasn't looking at anything properly anymore.
So I didn't wait.
I pulled her straight into me.
No words.
Just movement.
Her body was tense.
So I adjusted her closer, one arm around her back, the other holding her hand firmly again.
I lowered my head slightly to check her face.
She wasn't fully here.
So I didn't speak much.
Just brought her closer to my chest.

Jay Jay's POV
It was overwhelming.
Everything inside my head felt scattered.
But then—
warmth.
His arms around me.
Solid.
Real.
My body didn't even argue.
It just… clung.
My fingers curled into his shirt without thinking.
I didn't even realize I was shaking until I felt his hand gently steady mine.

Keifer's POV
She's not fully breathing right.
So I slow everything.
My breathing first.
Then my grip.
Not tighter.
Just steady.
I keep one hand on her back, slow circles.
The other still holding her hand so she can feel something consistent.
No sudden movements.
No noise from me.
Just presence.

Jay Jay's POV
I tried to match his breathing.
At first it didn't work.
Then slowly… it started to.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
His chest moving slightly under my forehead gave me something to follow.
I don't know how long it took.
But the tightness in my chest slowly started loosening.
My grip on his shirt stayed.
But the shaking slowed.

Keifer's POV
She starts calming down.
I don't change anything yet.
Just wait.
Let her come back on her own.
Her breathing steadies slightly.
Her fingers still hold onto me.
That's fine.
I don't move her away.
Just shift her slightly so she's fully supported against me.
My hand stays on her back.
Constant.

Jay Jay's POV
Everything slowly starts making sense again.
The room feels normal again.
But I don't move away.
Because I don't want to.
His hand is still holding mine.
His arm is still around me.
And my forehead is still against his chest.
I finally whisper:
"…I'm okay."
Not fully strong.
But real.

Keifer's POV
She's back.
I glance down at her once.
Then gently adjust a strand of hair from her face.
No words.
Just a small action.
Then I press a light kiss to her forehead.
Normal.
Not new.
Not dramatic.
Just him.
I don't ask questions.
I don't comment.
I just stay like this a moment longer before loosening my hold slightly—but not letting her go.

Jay Jay's POV
I finally lift my head a little.
He's already looking at me.
Calm.
Like nothing happened.
Like he already handled it before it became something bigger.
I don't say anything for a second.
Then quietly:
"…thank you."
He doesn't respond with words.
Just slightly squeezes my hand once.
And that's enough.
