Chapter 4 - Megumi vs Shin

By the time he was led out the door by Satoru, Shin suddenly felt a wave of embarrassment as if waking from a dream. He stole a glance at Satoru and only breathed a sigh of relief when he found that the other party had no intention of mocking him.

"By the way, Gojo-sensei, who can I ask for help if I want to buy some things? Just to mention, the things I want to buy might be very miscellaneous, a bit of everything, so it might be difficult for me to buy them all quickly on my own."

"Hmm... that is indeed a problem. I'll have someone from the Gojo clan help you buy what you want. You can make a list, writing down the names and the quantities needed. Go back to the dormitory and wash up properly first, I'll contact you in a bit."

Shin looked at his tattered and blood-stained clothes and nodded in deep agreement.

After taking a shower and changing into new clothes, Shin sat at his desk and began to make a list.

He planned to collect every Minecraft item that could be found in the real world—except for precious items like gold, because with his current financial resources, he couldn't even afford a single gold block (approximately 238kg).

"Buy one ton of iron first, unlocking Iron Ingots means everything else related to iron is also unlocked. Then buy a bit of every food in Minecraft. Buy one cubic meter of every kind of wood that can be found in the real world. Also, buy one cubic meter of every common rock found in the real world and..."

Nearly two hours passed without him noticing.

Satoru had been standing behind Shin watching for a long while before he finally couldn't help but speak up, "Shin, although these things are very common, isn't there a bit too much variety? And do you have enough money?"

Shin's hand suddenly stopped. He turned his face toward Satoru and flashed a flattering smile.

"Handsome and beloved Gojo-sensei, um... can I borrow some money? I'll definitely pay you back once I start doing missions."

Satoru seemed to suddenly think of something and flashed a chilling smile. He quickly reached out, grabbed the sheets of paper from Shin's hand, took a photo, and sent it to someone unknown.

Then, he waved his hand with feigned indifference and said, "Of course you can. In fact, you don't even need to pay me back. Just help me with a 'few' missions when you're strong enough in the future."

Shin naturally knew that the 'few' missions Satoru mentioned would definitely not be just a few, but he really needed to unlock more items. This was the only way to increase the probability of obtaining items that didn't exist in the real world.

"Alright, Gojo-sensei. I will definitely work hard to complete the missions you assign in the future." Shin said this almost through gritted teeth.

Satoru laughed with satisfaction, patted Shin on the back, and left.

...

Because the items Shin requested were so miscellaneous, it took nearly a week even for the Gojo clan to deliver everything to Jujutsu High.

During these days, Shin was either being unilaterally beaten by Satoru or constantly punching blocks to unlock items, living a very tight schedule.

Until this day, with the arrival of a sea-urchin-haired boy...

"Let me introduce you. This is Fushiguro Megumi, a first-year enrolling this year. This is Kagura Shin, a fellow first-year. There's also a first-year girl who will be arriving a few months later. There are only three first-years this year."

Saying that, Satoru led the two of them to the training ground.

"Alright, that's enough for verbal introductions. You two have a real fight. Don't hold back. You can only trust each other on missions if you understand each other's strength, right?"

Megumi and Shin glanced at each other and both agreed with his statement.

Shin quickly pulled away from Megumi because he knew Megumi didn't have many long-range attack methods.

"Divine Dogs, Nue!"

Megumi immediately summoned two types of shikigami. It wasn't that he didn't want to summon more, he just couldn't summon more at the same time.

Megumi rushed toward Shin with the Divine Dogs, while Nue dove down toward Shin amidst the crackling sound of lightning.

A TNT suddenly appeared in Shin's left hand, while his right hand held a Flint and Steel. With a slight strike between the items in both hands, the TNT began to flash with white light.

"Go! I choose you!"

The TNT flew toward Megumi, accompanied by the sound of rushing wind.

Within seconds, Shin built a box around himself with Granite. He left only a single block open in front of him for observation.

Nue crashed into the Granite ceiling, causing it to stumble.

Boom!

Although Megumi knew that whatever was flying toward him wasn't anything good and subconsciously dodged with the Divine Dogs, he didn't expect the TNT to deal area-of-effect damage. The shockwave knocked him straight to the ground.

A large crater about four meters in diameter was left on the Jujutsu High training ground.

After falling, Megumi quickly rolled back into a standing position. But in that short amount of time, Shin had already emerged from the box, holding a Fishing Rod which he swung fiercely at Megumi to hook him over.

Megumi felt a sharp pain in his shoulder before finding himself flying uncontrollably toward Shin.

As Megumi was about to be pulled right in front of him, a Birch Wood Plank appeared in Shin's other hand and was smashed toward him.

Birch Wood Planks were high-density wood that Shin had carefully selected. The plank had a moderate weight, it wouldn't kill him instantly, but the injury certainly wouldn't be light.

Crack!

Even though Megumi mobilized almost all of his Cursed Energy to his arms for defense, he was still sent flying with a fracture from the impact.

Poof!

Nue and the Divine Dogs immediately returned to Megumi's shadow.

"Great Serpent!"

A Great Serpent surged from below, carrying Shin into mid-air, intending to bite him in half.

An Iron Sword appeared in Shin's hand, which he swung downward with a fierce strike.

In the eyes of Satoru and Megumi, it looked as if the Great Serpent had charged into the Iron Sword, being split into left and right halves.

Shin fell rapidly from about 20 meters in the air, seemingly about to crash into the ground. While subconsciously using Cursed Energy to protect his entire body, a Water Bucket appeared in his right hand.

"MLG!"

A stylish Water Bucket landing left his blood churning from the impact, and the water he poured out even made him choke. Fortunately, it wasn't a big deal, and he would recover quickly.

"Cough, cough..."
