Chapter 55 - I can't let you involved

Lina's body suddenly went limp in Luo Feng's arms. She had cried until she had no strength left and passed out against his chest, breathing shallow and weak.

Luo Feng gently laid her down on a nearby bench inside the guild hall. He brushed a strand of dirty hair from her face, then stood up and turned to the Guild Master and the crowd of watching adventurers.

"Please take care of her," he said quietly but firmly. "I will pay you as much as you want. I have somewhere I need to go."

The Guild Master frowned. "Where are you going, Feng?"

Luo Feng's voice did not rise, but every word was heavy.

"I am going to kill every single one of them — the five heroes and the soldiers who escaped that day. I will not spare any of them."

A shocked silence fell over the hall.

The Guild Master stepped forward quickly. "Feng, listen to me. The soldiers who survived are mostly B-rank and A-rank fighters. And the heroes… they were only novice rank when they first arrived, but after months of war they are now stronger than S-rank. They have the Goddess's blessings and the full support of the Church and the King."

Luo Feng looked at him with calm, cold eyes.

"Their rank doesn't matter."

He reached to his belt, pulled out the slender Adamantite dagger, and held it up. The legendary black metal gleamed under the guild lights, its edge so sharp it seemed to cut the air itself.

Everyone in the hall froze.

A legendary-grade Adamantite weapon… forged into a simple dagger.

The adventurers' eyes widened in disbelief and awe.

One S-rank warrior stepped forward, voice rough with anger and respect. "We will join you."

More voices rose at once. "We're with you!" "Those bastards don't deserve to live!" "Let us help you end them!"

Luo Feng looked at each of them, then slowly shook his head.

He bowed politely, his voice steady and sincere.

"Thank you… all of you. But I cannot let you get involved in this. Every one of you has a family back home to protect. I do not want you to become enemies of the King, his soldiers, or the heroes. This is my fight alone."

He sheathed the dagger and gave one last bow to the Guild Master.

"Please take good care of Lina. I will return when it is done."

Without waiting for anyone to reply, Luo Feng turned and walked out of the guild hall, his steps calm and unhurried, the weight of his decision clear in the straight line of his shoulders.

The entire hall watched him go in stunned silence.

Outside, the capital lights burned bright, but Luo Feng's eyes were already fixed on the road that would lead him to the heroes and soldiers who had destroyed his village, his wife, and his unborn child.

He had made his choice.

And nothing in this world would stop him now.
