Chapter 4 - Forming a new team.

Adrian was seated on a small barrel at the side of the plaza. It had not been that long since the soldiers of Vladash had returned to the capital after their speech.

It was not surprising either, since from what they said, the only reason they were there was to make sure the new arrivals understood why they were in this new world.

Babysitting was far from what they intended to do.

Adrian dug his fingers into his black hair, packing it to the side with an anxious look on his face.

He could still hear the sounds of the other humans that had arrived with him into the game, echoing all around him.

Many of them were quickly beginning to understand what they needed to do, since no one was entirely new to what the game was all about. As such, they had already begun acting in ways to secure their survival.

Those who had received the best classes, after checking their stats, were happy to make their way to the capital and declare it. With that, it was almost certain that they would become an important part of society.

The ones that managed to get weaker classes understood their limits and were busy trying to form temporary, unofficial parties with the stronger players.

Not a bad idea, since almost everyone was sticking to one another, more than ready to apply for the adventurer role and carry on to become the strongest they could be.

But for Adrian, it was not the same at all.

'What the hell is this?'

He whispered in his mind with total disgust as he stared at the screen in front of him.

[Name: Adrian.

Level: 1

Class: Null.]

A single drop of sweat trickled from the side of his face.

Normally, upon accessing the system for the first time, you would be assigned a class at random, based on how lucky you were.

The classes were grouped in different tiers, each more powerful than the last, at least when it came to how people viewed things in this world.

Someone with the class of healer was obviously looked down on when compared to a high priest.

Either way, Adrian was cooked.

He had no class to begin with.

'Shit, this is bad. I would have considered the fact that it was some kind of glitch, but can that even be the case? Not possible, right?'

His face grew a shade paler.

'I am so screwed. No way anyone would want to form a party with a classless dude. Even worse, I cannot raid dungeons like this. If I do not have a class, then I am definitely not accessing the skill trees. I am completely done for.'

Adrian raised his head a bit and looked forward, noticing a group not too far away from where he sat.

Most of the people in the plaza had already begun to explore the world, leaving the place somewhat less crowded than it had been moments before.

But there, a group of three people were looking at him as though studying him.

Above their heads, he could see only their names and levels, which was a relief for him since it meant they could not see his class either.

Before he could decide on what to do next, a voice cut through the noise.

"Hey there, what's up!"

Adrian kept a calm look on his face as he watched the man in the middle of the group call out to him, and from there, they began to close the distance.

A group of three, with a male in the front, and another man and a woman trailing behind him.

From merely looking at them, he could tell the one in front was the leader, and the woman at the back was rather frightened and unsure of the entire situation.

In a matter of moments, they had already reached him.

Adrian, still seated, looked at the man before him, seeing the wide grin on his face.

"Hi, the name is Eren. You?" The man stretched his hand out for a shake.

Adrian could only smile nervously. After all, the reason Eren was here was probably to recruit him into the temporary party.

If he were to find out Adrian had no class, then he would probably walk away without a second thought.

"Adrian," he replied, shaking his hand in return.

A bigger smile formed on Eren's face.

"Haha, I thought you were going to ignore me for a second there. Anyway, I see that you are alone here. How about you join us? With a team you can level up faster until you are able to form an official party, no?"

Adrian stayed silent for a while.

He looked at their faces, and he could not really sense any kind of hostility from them.

The thought of telling them that he had no class did cross his mind, but at the same time, he knew the risk that could come with that.

If it was a temporary party, then there was a way he could benefit from this. Unlike most people here, he was the one who had pushed through the floors back when this was just a game on a screen. His knowledge of the world far outweighed theirs.

Adrian rose to his feet.

"Since everyone has already done the same, I see no reason why we should not."

Eren's grin stretched even wider.

"Cool. I mean, we are kind of new to this, even back when the game first launched. But if we stick together, I have a feeling we will be fine."

'I see, so they are newbies. Works for me then.'

Adrian tilted his head to the side and pointed toward the market district.

"We should get some items before we head to the guild. That would make it easier for us to handle the smaller monsters and clear dungeons."

"Oh, items? Do we have a way to get free items?" the one wearing glasses asked, a spark of excitement crossing his face.

Adrian gave a small nod.

"Yeah, something like that. The game already gave us free coins when we arrived, so they can be used to buy low-level gear for now."

"I did not know that." The boy with glasses tapped on the air in front of him, opening the menu to check for himself.

Adrian sighed quietly in his mind.

'This is going to be a long day for me. Then again, when all is said and done, I might be the one that ends up holding them back.'
