The moment his awareness returned and he realized he was back in that strange realm of white and darkness, only one conclusion came to Lu-el.
"I died, didn't I..." he mumbled softly, surprised that the realization didn't fill him with as much sadness and regret as he expected—or perhaps it simply hadn't hit him yet.
But before tears could form in his eyes, as he clenched his fists and bit his lips trying to endure the crushing pressure building in his chest, a familiar voice called out to him.
"Not exactly."
Glancing toward the source of the voice, spoken in an obviously sarcastic tone like a woman pretending to stay calm while holding back delight over how successful her prank had been, Lu-el once again came face to face with the scammer goddess.
