Chapter 67 - CHAPTER SIXTY EIGHT

"What do you want to say? Is everything all right?" Ellen asked, once they got to his car. "Meeting you has been the highlight of my year, Eleanora Wilson. And I'm going to miss more than just your perfect body. You were the jewel that made me feel I wasn't rich enough to purchase. I…" Henry began, but was interrupted. "Why does this feel like goodbye? Are you breaking up with me?" Ellen asked with suspicion. "Yes, I am." Henry replied. "What? Henry, I was just kidding. Why are you breaking up with me? Did I do something?" Ellen asked, her heart racing. "No, calm down baby girl. This isn't a break up, this is till we meet again. I'm going to university, Ellen; we won't be in the same school anymore…" "That is the most ridiculous excuse for a breakup that I've heard. How is our schooling a problem?" Ellen retorted and asked. "You don't get it. I'm going to study medicine Eleanora; I can't have my mind thinking of you all the damn time. Plus, you don't take a phone to school, how will we communicate? Okay fine, let's do long distance, I'll come see you every month during visiting. Can you leave your family to be with me? It wasn't possible when we were both in school, but maybe we can make it work…" "You know that won't be possible Henry. But it doesn't mean you should leave me." Ellen said, tears pouring. "I'm not leaving you baby girl. I'll be right here, waiting for you at the University of Ghana. That's why I said this is till we meet again. I love you Eleanora, and I would rather take a break and wait for you, than live in agony thinking of you, and trying to communicate with you." He lied. "You had admission in UG?" The naïve girl asked. "Yes baby, and I'll be waiting for you there. You can call me when you get the chance, it's still the same number." Henry replied. "But I don't want to break up with you." Ellen said in tears again. "Eleanora, don't break my heart more than it is, right now. You have no idea how difficult this is for me. If I didn't care about you, this would be going in a nonchalant direction right now, but I do, and I don't want to hurt you, God, this is excruciating." Henry said, hugging her to hide his teary eyes too, but Ellen saw it. "Besides, I don't want you to keep on feeling guilty with your parents. They can have you for now, but you're mine, once you get to the university. I promise to wait for you Eleanora, and I'll never forget you." Henry continued. "Promise? I'm going to write NOV-DEC or SAT, so that I'll come join you soon. Speaking of which, how come you're not going abroad like Clara and Eric?" Ellen asked, remembering they were leaving. "I'm not going, not now at least. If I leave, I won't be able to see or talk to you, and I don't want that, so I'm going to UG instead." Henry blatantly lied. "Really, but why?" Ellen asked, believing him, and Henry had to hug her again, this time, to hide his smile. This was too easy. The girl that made it challenging for him to get her, now loved him too much to trust his every word. "Because I love you. I'm sacrificing that for now. Study hard so we can go together after you complete. We're both going to be doctors from the same school." Henry said, and Ellen cried out of overwhelming feeling. She couldn't believe he was really doing that for her. She almost believed he was breaking up with her after having sex with her, therefore proving he was playing her, but it turns out he just wanted to wait for her till later, and solve her lying issue with her parents. "Henry, you are not going to date the entire female population of the school, are you?" Ellen asked with seriousness. "Hahaha, I will be on my best behavior, I promise. You also make sure no guy comes around you, you're mine, just mine. I have to go now, we cool?" Henry replied, not answering the question directly. "Till we meet again baby boy, by the way, you aren't my boyfriend anymore to give me such instruction. Is this how you always break up with your girlfriends?" Ellen said, and asked. "Wow, that just hurt me to hear you say I'm not your boyfriend anymore, we're on break Eleanora, this is not permanent. Also, they wouldn't hate me if I did. I can stand their hatred, I really can, but not yours. I need you to trust me, I'm not playing you Eleanora, I'm mad over you, and I need you to know that. I can't wait for the day I see you again, baby girl." Henry said with sincerity, knowing it wouldn't be for a long time to come. He kissed her, deepening it like it was the last time he was getting to kiss her, just as their friends got there. "That's enough you two, we have to go before I miss my flight, and Elle gets into trouble for having a swollen lip." Stephanie teased, making Henry having to let go of his now ex-girlfriend. "It's been one heck of a ride Eleanora Wilson. Don't you dare forget about me, cause; I won't. And one more thing, unless you plan on having my baby, which is fine with me by the way, take a pill. Goodbye baby girl, I love you." Henry whispered into her ear, Ellen's eyes widening in realization that she forgot to take one last week, due to the drama in her house. "I might be already, a mini you." Ellen whispered back with a blush. "My GOD, I really spoiled you, didn't I?" Henry said with a laugh and Ellen blushed again, their friends wondering what they are talking about. "Till we meet again guys, peace." Henry said, bidding them farewell and driving away after pecking and hugging Ellen, as well as the rest of the group goodbye. Clara was relieved to see nothing amiss. That meant Henry had told her, and she was fine with it, even though it looked like she had cried. "Elle, are you okay?" Clara asked with concern. "Henry and I just broke up." Ellen announced, just as Eric received a text from Henry. *YOU OWE ME! * The text read, making Eric laugh, replying *AYE AYE CAPTAIN. You son of the devil, nice of you to let her off easy. * "Oh my God, are you okay?" Clara asked, shocked to hear that. "Wait a minute, did we not just see you two kiss like there is no tomorrow?" Stephanie asked, shocked as well. "Henry is going to school, and so am I. We can't do distant dating; it will affect us. I'll be fine." Ellen explained with an assurance as a drop of tears flowed. "Oh, I see." Clara said, understanding it was because he was leaving. Henry didn't break his promise after all, because he was brutal when it came to break ups. "Wow, this has got to be the smoothest break up I've seen Kobby do, since we dated. And even that did not go so well. I was heartbroken." Stephanie commented, the gang agreeing. "Don't worry Elle, everything will be fine." Abby consoled her best friend. "Yeah Ellen, he doesn't do smooth break-up, what you two had was special. I really hope you two come together again one day." Clara cheered her. "Yes, me too. He still has to teach me how to drive." Ellen said, getting in the car with the girls after hugging goodbye. *How is she? * Eric received a text again. He called him instead of answering the text, sparking his car with Clara at the front. "Yo bro. You still there at the beach?" Henry's voice came through the air pod in Eric's ear. He didn't want Clara hearing anything she wasn't supposed to hear. "No, we just left. Where are you?" Eric asked, getting unto the main road after the girls' car. "I'm going straight to the airport, Rosie and Dad will meet me there. My flight is at 5:30pm and its past 4:30pm." Henry answered, driving skillfully to avoid traffic by using different routes. He had his license now, as the police could stop him anytime with the kind of car he drove, at such a young age. "Alright, Clara and I will meet you there." Eric said, using a different route to get to the airport.

Steph's car pulled out of Kelly's house after dropping her off before heading for Ellen's place. They had first dropped off Abby at her house, and she was next. Ellen's house was the last resort, which was relieving because what she had to ask her, she couldn't say it in front of her friends. "Um Steph, before we go to my place, can we pass by the pharmacy?" Ellen asked coyly. "Are you not feeling well?" Steph asked with concern. "I'm fine, I just need to buy plan B pills." Ellen answered, saying the last words in such a timid way, Steph almost did not hear her, but just to be sure she heard right, "Come again please." She urged. "I, have, to, buy plan B pills." This time, she heard it well, as Ellen mustered courage to speak out loud enough for her to hear, her eyes widening in shock. "You had sex with Kobby!?" Stephanie asked in shock, Ellen putting her hand over her mouth at how loud she was. "Oh my God. Um, uncle joe, please pass by the pharmacy, I need to take a prescription." Stephanie said and instructed her driver. "Wow! Tell me everything." Steph commanded with excitement, after the initial shock, her facial expressions getting more and more impressed with what Ellen had to say about Kempinski and this afternoon in his car. "That sneaky devil. He had your first time in Kempinski freaking hotel, and he did it with me in his house." Steph complained with mockery, not believing her ears. "I can't believe you were getting funky with him this afternoon when I was worried sick about you. How do I not know about this?" Steph said and asked with interest. "I guess he doesn't tell you everything after all. I'm really sorry I've been rude to you because of jealousy Steph. You are a great friend, and I'm glad I met you. I met Chris first, but you're definitely my best friend." Ellen said and apologized. "It's alright Elle, I've been in the charm of Kobby before, and if I'm being frank, I was a teensy jealous about you two. Seeing you two always reminded me of him and I. Sure we did not go to Paris or Kempinski for our birthdays, but he loved me, and I loved him. And it looked like you got everything I couldn't get fully because I had to go to Canada, but I promise I never wanted to take him away from you. I backed off the moment Kelly said he's the boy they were teasing you with, and you liked him, because I value friendships more than that kind of relationship. Besides, let's admit it, Kobby and I work better as friends than lovers. He's all yours, and I'm sorry I made you feel you were not special to him on phone that day, or any other day. One just has to be careful with that guy." Steph gave a whole lecture, ending when they got to the pharmacy.

"I'm proud of you for not being harsh with Ellen, Kobby." Clara said, when they met Henry at the airport. His flight was in ten minutes' time. Rosie was there with Terry, who was busy talking to some of the officials he knew, the ones who made it easy for Henry to fly Ellen in and out the country without a passport. "You have no idea how difficult that was for me. Is she okay? She didn't take it well when I told her I was leaving. She wanted to come with me, but she had to go home as well. I will never forget her, I know I won't, my priceless jewel." Henry said, and Eric coughed at his last words, making Henry smirked. "Clara was about to say something, when she got a call, stepping away to receive it. "Bro, why would you use that word around Clara? Do you want her to wish you get a plane crush, or kill you before you enter the plane?" Eric questioned, relieved Clara left them to answer a call. "Relax, Clara knows we call her that, thanks to Ben for blurting God knows what, to his girlfriend. I can't believe he couldn't date anyone other than Esther fucking Danso." Henry said in annoyance. "What?" Eric asked in disbelief. Henry then explained what happened at the beach earlier today. "Bro, it's a good thing you managed to clear her doubts, you'd be toast by now." Eric said, laughing. "I can watch some relationships fall, but anyone who will come between Clara and I will regret it, I swear. You better make sure you get the drive from Ben; I don't want anything else coming to light. Afua and Naa must stay in the dark at all costs." Henry instructed. "What about your jewel? Did you really fall for her?" Eric asked with curiosity. "What do you think of her Eric?" Henry asked instead. "I have to admit, everything else put aside, I grew to like her too. I won't be surprised if you actually fell for her, I warned you though." Eric answered with a smirk. "I don't do love bro. I'll see you on the other side. Either I'll fly to America, or you'll both have to come to London. I've had enough of this country for a while. I mean it though, I won't forget her, she's sweet inside out. If I were to choose a girl at any time, I will pick her every time." Henry said, planning their vacations and ending with a statement Clara was pleased to hear, as she got there just when he was saying it. Henry's flight was announced to start boarding and they had to do the goodbye all over again, Clara crying this time with Rosie, making the hard boy shed a tear too. They left the airport when his flight took off, saying goodbye to Henry Kwabena Yawson.
