Chapter 15 - You Can Pay Me Back... In Installments

Chapter Fifteen

"What, what?" Ren smiled, staring at Monica's flustered face. "I just risked my life to save you. Are you not going to offer me a thank you kiss?"

Monica's ruby eyes widened as she realized her position. She was straddling Ren in the cramped driver's seat, her short skirt riding up her thighs, her breasts pressed against his chest.

The adrenaline from the chase earlier still coursed through Monica's veins, mixing with the heavy sexual tension in the air.

"I... Ren, we're in a parking lot..."

"And?" Ren's hands found her hips, thumbs tracing circles on the soft skin exposed by her hiked-up skirt. "Five minutes ago, we were being shot at. Now we're alive. Doesn't that make you want to... celebrate being alive?"

Monica bit her lip, her breath coming quicker.

The heat from Ren's body seeped through his thin shirt, making Monica feel every inch of him pressed against her including the very insistent proof of nine inches that his earlier words about celebrating weren't just talk.

"You're impossible," Monica whispered as she leaned in closer. Her dark hair creating a curtain around their faces. "Such a demanding boyfriend."

Monica's attempt to flirt made a chuckle escape his lips.

Unlike Alex, Monica was an innocent beauty. Her flirting didn't make one gulp in tension but chuckle at the cuteness of trying to do something she wasn't meant for in the first place.

"Why are you laughing?!" Monica harrumphed, punching Ren's chest in frustration as she glared at him.

Ren's laughter softened at this sudden change in attitude as his hand left her hip to brush a strand of hair from her face, tucking it gently behind her ear.

"Because I have a very sexy girlfriend~" Ren chuckled, gripping Monica's wrist to stop her assault on his chest and pulling her in again.

Monica gritted her teeth, smoke leaving her ears as she leaned closer and bit Ren's neck like a rabid dog, leaving a hickey. "Making fun of me! Go away! I want a divorce!"

"Now that you took advantage of me. You want a divorce? Impossible!" Ren frowned at the turn the conversation had taken as he glared back at Monica.

'Losing my first girlfriend before sex?! Not a chance!'

"You! You!" Before Monica's frustrated brain could form another sentence, Ren slammed his lips against Monica's shutting her up for good.

Their lips met slower this time than the desperate kiss in the parking lot back at the hospital.

Ren's tongue traced Monica's lower lip before slipping inside, tasting the salt of her tears mixed with the sweet taste of her strawberry lipstick.

"Mmnph~" Monica moaned against his mouth, her hips shifting instinctively, grinding against Ren's nine inches, making Ren groan in response.

Ren's hands slid higher, pushing the hem of her dress up until his fingers found the edge of black lace.

Monica gasped into his mouth but didn't pull away. If anything, she pressed closer, her small hands fisting in his hair.

"Ren~" Monica's name brushed as a moan against Ren's lips as she let Ren take full control.

Ren sensing an immediate opportunity, hooked his fingers into the lace. However, before he could pull it aside Monica's stomach growled.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

The sound was loud. Obnoxious. And absolutely perfectly timed to ruin the moment and cockblock Ren.

Monica froze. Her face, already flushed, turned the color of a ripe tomato as she pressed her forehead against Ren's shoulder in mortification.

"I... I haven't eaten since yesterday," Monica mumbled into Ren's shirt. "With Neil's hospital bills, family problems and worrying about the rent and then everything with you... I forgot to eat completely."

Ren stared at the ceiling of the car for a long moment, silently communicating with whatever cosmic force found his suffering entertaining.

'You couldn't wait thirty minutes? Just thirty minutes?! I was so fucking close!' Ren groaned in frustration and then sighed to calm himself down.

"Ren? Are you mad?" Monica's small voice came from somewhere near his collarbone. "I'm sorry. I ruined the mood, didn't I?"

Ren's hand came up to stroke her hair, his frustration melting despite himself. "Not at all. Let's get a new car first and ditch this one. Then, we can get you some food. Okay?"

"A c-car? How? I don't have enough money to afford a new car, Ren. Can't we just give this one to a mechanic for fixing?" Monica mumbled, sitting up straight with a worried look on her face.

"I'll buy it for you. Why are you worrying so much? After all, it was me who drove your car so roughly that it's in such bad shape now." Ren stroked Monica's head, adjusting his position a little.

Monica bit her lip at Ren's response. "No. I can't accept this. You already paid four million for my brother's hospital bill. I can't let you pay again. It's too much for me."

"Is that so? Then, think of it as a punishment. A punishment for lying to me that this car was mine."

Monica's eyes dropped to her lap, her fingers picking at a loose thread on Ren's shirt. "That's not—I just... I didn't want you to worry. You drank so much you couldn't even remember you didn't have a car. I really just wanted to help."

"And, you did. Now, it's my turn to repay that help." Ren tilted her chin up with one finger.

"But, Ren–"

"Monica, we definitely cannot keep this car. Because if we use this car anymore, we're dead. Not maybe dead. Definitely dead."

Monica's brow furrowed as she stared at Ren. "But we lost them. The shooting stopped blocks ago."

Ren let out a humorless laugh. "Monica, they had our plate and they were shooting under the open sky, fearlessly. You really think whoever is backing them doesn't have people checking traffic cameras right now, watching this very parking lot?" He gestured toward the cracked windshield.

Monica's face paled as the reality settled in, her hands gripping Ren's shoulders. "Then... then we take a taxi. Or a bus. Something. I can't let you buy me a car, Ren. I already owe you more than I could ever—"

"Owe me?" Ren's voice came out sharper than intended, and he softened it immediately, his thumb brushing her cheek. "You don't owe me anything. The hospital bills weren't a loan. They were me taking care of my girlfriend's family. That's what people in relationships do, Monica. Unless of course, you don't consider me your boyfriend at all."

Monica shook her head stubbornly, her dark hair swaying. "That's not how this works, Ren. My mother raised me to never take what I can't give back. You can't just—"

"Okay then." Ren cut her off, an idea forming behind his eyes. "How about this? I buy the car. You pay me back. In installments."

"Installments?"
