Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: Dealing with a Few People

The man had only just walked over when he began humming softly.

"Dao… Young Miss, you're quite beautiful. How about becoming friends with me? You know—boyfriend and girlfriend. If you become friends with me, I'll definitely protect your little brother. Are you here to hunt a spirit ring for yourself, or for him? If you agree, I'll have my brothers help you hunt spirit beasts while we're at it. What do you think?"

Disgust was obvious in Qiangu Yunying's eyes. She glanced at the man—especially at the pockmarks covering his face—then calmly lifted her foot.

Before the man could say another word, a sharp whooshing sound rang out.

"Bang!"

He was sent flying straight into the wall, embedded there so deeply that he couldn't pull himself free.

His body twitched slightly, swaying back and forth while his head was stuck in the wall, but he didn't make a sound. Whether he had already passed out was anyone's guess.

The man had five companions.

Seeing how miserable he looked, they didn't even consider Qiangu Yunying's true strength. Instead, they assumed she had simply attacked first while they weren't prepared.

In an instant, three spirit rings—white, yellow, and purple—appeared in the hall.

Among the five, the strongest was a scar-faced man. Four spirit rings rose around him, one yellow and one purple shining brightly.

"You unreasonable woman!" the scar-faced man roared. "My brother only wanted to make friends with you, and this is how you treat him? If you don't give us a satisfactory explanation, you're not leaving this place today!"

Qiangu Yunying chuckled softly.

"One white, two yellow, and one purple. I really don't know how you people have the nerve to show off that kind of spirit ring configuration. Take a look at mine."

She clenched her right hand, and a long spear appeared in her grasp. She tapped it lightly against the ground.

In the next moment, seven spirit rings—two yellow, two purple, and three black—rose around her.

From the first ring to the seventh, the pressure steadily increased, instantly suppressing everyone present.

"Two yellow, two purple, three black?! Seven rings?! A Spirit Saint?!"

"It's a Spirit Saint! How is that possible?!"

Qiangu Yunying calmly looked at them, the flame-plundering spear resting in her hand.

"Well? You seemed pretty energetic just now. What about now? Still feeling bold? What do you think you should do next?"

She gazed at the group of despicable scoundrels before her. No—they weren't even worthy of being called hypocrites. They were simply filthy, foul-smelling, and weak bandits.

An indescribable sense of satisfaction rose in her heart.

So this is what the principal meant by 'showing off.'

This really is… satisfying.

If only I could show off like this all the time.

Scarface and his five companions immediately dropped to their knees.

They slammed their heads against the ground, over and over, until blood ran down their foreheads.

"Spirit Saint, I was wrong! I'm willing to surrender! I'll accept any punishment—just please spare my life!"

Even the restaurant owner looked on nervously.

"Lord Spirit Saint, could you please take this outside to settle it? This is a small business—if the restaurant gets damaged, I'll suffer huge losses!"

The middle-aged owner was clearly terrified, still swallowing nervously as he spoke.

Yin Zhang and Qiangu Yunying led the group outside.

Seeing that they appeared repentant and eager to admit their mistakes, Yin Zhang decided to let them go.

…Yeah, right.

With a swift slash of Yin Zhang's blade, the right leg of all five men—along with the unconscious pockmarked man—was severed.

Qiangu Yunying felt a faint pang of pity at the sight, but she forced herself to remain calm. She watched carefully, steeling her heart, so that if she encountered people like this again, she would be the one to act—rather than relying on Yin Zhang to do it for her.

Six severed legs lay on the ground.

Yin Zhang chuckled softly and lifted them with his mental power.

With a casual wave of his right hand, blazing flames clung to them, burning fiercely. A faint, meaty aroma drifted through the air.

Seeing Qiangu Yunying's expression stiffen slightly, Yin Zhang increased the flames, reducing the severed limbs to ashes that scattered onto the ground.

The surviving men were filled with terror.

If only they had known how ruthless Yin Zhang and Qiangu Yunying were… they would have left the moment the two entered the restaurant, instead of letting alcohol cloud their judgment and thinking about causing trouble.

Now, this was the result.

Yin Zhang noticed the fearful gazes peeking out from the restaurant windows behind him.

With just a glance back, he could see countless heads hastily lowering, faces pale with fear.

Yin Zhang chuckled lightly.

"Alright. My punishment is complete. You can leave this town now. Whether you go to Xuanwu Forest or return to Xuanwu City is up to you."

It was already evening.

Given their condition, even if they chose to head back to Xuanwu City instead of entering the forest, losing a leg each meant they would likely die without proper treatment.

As for circulating spirit power, that would only worsen their wounds, intensifying the pain and accelerating blood loss.

Yin Zhang hadn't done this out of mercy.

If any of them somehow survived and reached Xuanwu City, it could become troublesome if an investigation was launched.

Watching the group hop away on one leg each, leaving a long trail of blood behind them, Yin Zhang finally turned to Qiangu Yunying and smiled.

"Sister Yunying, go inside and eat first. I'll clean up the aftermath. If any of them actually make it to Xuanwu City, it could be annoying."

Qiangu Yunying nodded.

Yin Zhang summoned his martial soul—Charizard.

Broad dragon wings spread from its back, and with a gentle flap guided by Yin Zhang's mental control, a whooshing sound rang out as he soared into the sky.

As his figure grew smaller and smaller, Qiangu Yunying turned back into the restaurant to wait.

A few minutes later, Yin Zhang returned and sat down beside her.

There were far fewer customers now than when they had first arrived.

The reason was obvious.

Yin Zhang grabbed a large chicken leg from the table and took a big bite. He was genuinely hungry.

After eating a bit, he heard Qiangu Yunying whisper softly,

"How was it?"

Yin Zhang nodded. "It's all taken care of. We'll stay at the hotel next door tonight. Tomorrow we'll enter the forest. It's dangerous at night—there's no need to rush."

Qiangu Yunying nodded in agreement.
