Sanji felt an arrow pierce his heart. He rushed to Nami's side, completely ignoring the two boys and kneeling before the orange-haired girl. "My beautiful swan. There's nothing I wouldn't do for a goddess like you. Consider it forgotten. As if it never happened." Sanji looked up from the ground and glared at the two brutes standing beside the orange-haired beauty, frowning, before turning to the orange-haired girl. "My lady, first, may I ask your name?"
"Nami," the girl replied. Her mouth filled with sweat. It had been so easy. He was absolutely right... The boy was a complete jerk. She'd seen someone like him before. But never so... outrageous. She thought about it for a second before deciding that, actually, he was quite cute.
"A perfect name for a perfect woman," sighed the furrowed-browed teenager. He looked Nami in the eyes. "Secondly, I must ask... What has led you to bless these two beasts with your celestial presence?"
A mark appeared on Zoro's forehead, and Luffy burst out laughing. "Zoro! He called you a brute!" the young man laughed. The boy with the curled eyebrows was funny.
"He called you a brute too! Idiot!" Zoro shouted with shark teeth.
Luffy did what he usually did and simply laughed louder, further provoking Zoro's anger.
Nami looked at her two idiots with a bead of sweat on her brow. "Just ignore them..." she paused, searching for the blond boy's name.
Sanji realized this and immediately said, "I am Sanji, my lady."
"Sanji is a cute name," she flirted, winking at him.
The chef's heart was pierced by an arrow a second time. Women were wonderful creatures.
"Those two are my bodyguards, so just ignore them," the girl said with a smile.
The boy with the furrowed brows visibly relaxed. Of course, someone as beautiful as her would have bodyguards. She was the kind of beauty who needed protection.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Zoro stopped and held his head in pain as Nami raised her fist.
"Don't worry about him, he's all muscle and no brains," the girl said. She smiled sarcastically at the indignation on Zoro's face. Oh, sweet revenge.
"I see. Well, if it's alright with you, I'll offer you and your brutes a table. I'd love it if you'd let me cook," Sanji said. He looked at the two teenagers with the girl and frowned. "I suppose you two can eat too." He wasn't very happy, but at least he could feed the beautiful orange-haired girl.
"Meat!" Luffy exclaimed, jumping up. He was hungry, and the laughter was making it worse! Besides, he wanted to see what that funny guy with the eyebrows was cooking!
"Drinks!" Zoro shouted happily. Surely the silly, lovestruck blond would give him something to drink. After all, he had offered to cook for them.
Sanji mocked the two, now happy, children. "You two will pay for everything you eat and drink," he said, turning to look at Nami, his eyes filled with hearts. "Unlike you, Nami. The food is on the house."
Luffy and Zoro shouted in indignation before freezing and slowly turning toward each other as if they'd realized something. They stared at each other for a moment before marks appeared above their heads. The silence was broken as they both jerked their heads back and collided.
"MEAT!".
"ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE!".
"SHUT UP, BOTH OF YOU!" Nami yelled with shark teeth, slamming her fist into both boys' skulls.
The two friends remained silent as large bruises formed on the tops of their heads, pouting from their places on the ground, but obeying nonetheless.
Nami turned to Sanji and replied, "I'm flattered, Sanji. I'd love to try some of your cooking." She gestured to the two boys pouting on the floor. "I'm sure you won't have any problem paying for your meals, will you, boys?" She shot them a threatening look, and they both nodded, carefully touching their bruises.
"Perfect," said the chef in a black suit, standing up and pointing in the other direction of the dining room, "If you follow me, I can show you your table."
Nami walked in the direction she had been told, towards a table directly in front of her. It was leaning against a wall with a window, right above the table, which was illuminated by light on its white tablecloth.
Sanji pulled out the chair from the head of the table and gestured for Nami to sit, which she did. "Oh, and I almost forgot," said the chef in the black suit, pushing the girl's chair in. "Welcome to the Baratie." He bowed before rising and turning toward the kitchen. "I'll get you a bottle of wine to start, my lady." The teenager spun around, looking dizzy, and headed to the kitchen as Luffy and Zoro pulled out their chairs and sat down at the table.
"Hey! I want meat!" Luffy yelled from behind Sanji, banging his fork and knife on the table. Where the heck did he get them from?
"I want a drink. It shouldn't be too hard for a waiter like you to get me one," Zoro snapped. The damn cook was really getting on his nerves.
"Patty! Meat! Come clean up all the crap in the entrance!" Sanji yelled, heading in the direction of his destination before returning to the table. "First... why do you have a piece of moss on your head?" he said, pointing at Zoro's green hair. "Second... I'm not a damn waiter. I'm a chef."
Zoro scoffed, trying to ignore the blond's insult, "More like an ero-chef."
"What the hell did you say?" Sanji growled. Nobody insulted his love for women.
"Sanji!" Nami called from her seat next to Zoro, "I really wanted to try that wine." She gave him a dazzling smile that captivated the chef.
"Your wish is my command, my swan!" Sanji exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with hearts. He quickly disappeared into the kitchen to find the bottle of wine she had asked for. After all, he couldn't keep his queen waiting.
A bead of sweat trickled down Nami's cheek as the chef stood up from the table. He was very excited.
"I like it! I think it's funny!" Luffy laughed as he leaned against the wall, pointing at Zoro, "He called you moss head!"
Verdet growled at his future captain. "That idiot chef shouldn't be insulting anyone when he's just a pervert." He'd seen him leering at Nami and all the other women there. It didn't bother him for any other reason than that he was a nuisance.
That made Luffy laugh even harder. "Hey! Nami! Maybe you two could go take a look together!" exclaimed the straw hat boy, his laughter rising dramatically as Nami's face turned cherry red with anger.
"You damn idiot!" she yelled at him. "For the last time! I wasn't looking!" She huffed in anger and crossed her arms, turning her gaze away from the laughing boy. Sometimes he could be so irritating.
Across the dining room, two men emerged from the kitchen and gasped at the state of the restaurant's entrance. One of them was a burly man of medium height with brown hair and tanned skin. He was wearing the classic Baratie uniform and sunglasses, despite being inside.
The other man was muscular with somewhat large forearms. He had prominent lips, and his black hair was styled into an elaborate goatee. Instead of the standard uniform, like his companion, he wore a customized version of the restaurant's uniform: a dark double-breasted shirt, matching shorts, and a white apron. Finally, a pink scarf hung around his neck, tied in a knot at the front.
"What the hell happened here!" Patty shouted indignantly, throwing up his muscular arms and glaring at the restaurant. "The damn door is gone!" He surveyed the destruction, tears welling in his eyes. Who would do something like this to his beloved Baratie? He looked up at the ceiling, tears streaming down his face as he saw the front door half-nailed to the woodwork. "I'll kill whoever did this," he spat through his tears.
"Relax, Patty. It was probably Sanji's fault. There was probably a woman involved too," Carne said from Patty's side, frowning. "Well, no point dwelling on it. I'd better get to work." He sighed, looking at the task ahead. What on earth was their job? They were cooks, for crying out loud! He shook his head and grabbed Patty's sleeve. Time to get to work.
