Everyone snapped to attention, their eyes locked on the space in front of them, following his gaze.
From within the dense red mist, an unusually tall and burly figure slowly emerged.
It stood over eight feet tall. Its body was twisted and bloated, and its skin had the horrifying, dark-red texture of flayed flesh. Its limbs were too thick to be human, and its fingernails were sharp as hooks.
It was a horribly mutated zombie.
It clearly possessed some intelligence—it knew to lie in wait and bide its time—but it seemed to lack anything more advanced.
Drawn in by its "delicious" bait, Lucas Lockwood, it advanced step by step, full of greedy desire. It moved toward Lucas, who was clearly under the red mist's control again, standing rooted to the spot.
