Given the dim lighting, plus the fact that Qiao An had changed clothes and was wearing a baseball cap and mask, Cheng Quan didn't dare to look too closely and failed to recognize who she was.
Qiao An frowned slightly as she watched Cheng Quan press the button for the 36th floor again.
'The top floor isn't a great choice. If I'm discovered, there won't be enough time to get downstairs to escape.'
As the elevator crawled slowly upward, Qiao An stepped out on the 28th floor, a level she'd chosen at random. Aside from the dim hallway, she could hear an animal barking.
The elevator doors closed without a sound, as if someone had held them open. It felt like Cheng Quan was still staring at her from behind.
Hearing the barking, Qiao An zeroed in on one of the doors and stopped in front of it.
'What are you barking up a storm for? Open the door!'
