"If you don't say anything, Ryan Hayes will never know. You two are serious enough to be thinking about marriage, so you should really talk to him about this. If you keep it bottled up, it will just fester until you finally explode one day."
Evelyn Grant said gently, "You two need to communicate properly."
Yara Summers nodded and steered the conversation to another topic with a smile.
They hadn't been chatting for long when Ryan Hayes called. He asked where she was, reminded her that it was snowing heavily in Kryllos, and told her to dress warmly, not to wander around, not to drive, and that it would be best to take the subway home.
He went on and on.
Yara Summers hung up, the smile never leaving her lips. Her eyes met Evelyn Grant's, and she coughed bashfully. "He's such a nag."
Evelyn Grant teased, "But you seem to enjoy it."
Yara Summers' eyes crinkled as she smiled, and she nodded earnestly. "I really do."
