Gasp!
Phoebe Faulkner jumped in fright.
"Mr. Lennox, you... I... we..."
Jace Lennox watched coldly as Phoebe Faulkner flailed about, stumbling over her words, completely unaware of what she was saying. He pushed himself up with his arms and sat up in bed. His face, and even his body, still bore the traces of Phoebe's "handiwork" from the previous night.
As soon as Jace sat up, his bare chest was exposed to the air—and to Phoebe's eyes. Red scratch marks were starkly visible on his well-defined pecs.
When Phoebe saw the scratches on Jace's body and the marks on his face, she couldn't help but cover her mouth.
'Last night, did I... do it again?'
Both times, it had happened when she was completely out of it. She swore that if she had been conscious, she would never have dared to do such a thing to the man before her, let alone leave so many marks on his body.
