The hospital corridor in Jorgenland was almost too quiet. Zane Patterson leaned against the wall, his eyes fixed on the operating room door.
When he signed those forms earlier, Zane Patterson's hands had been shaking. Painkillers, anesthesia, emergency medication, backup plans—no matter what the nurse handed him, he insisted on using the most expensive, the best, the most effective options.
He had been so set on having a girl before, but at this moment, all those thoughts vanished.
A boy would be fine. A girl would be fine.
It didn't matter who the baby resembled. None of it mattered anymore.
All he wanted was for her to be safe.
"Zane, don't worry. This is the best hospital here. The doctors are excellent; they know what they're doing," Helena said reassuringly.
