Inside the coffee shop, Seraphina Quinn had no idea that Damian Fairchild was watching them from the shadows.
She stirred the coffee in her cup.
The rich, mellow aroma of the coffee was wonderful.
Just as Seraphina was about to raise the cup to her lips, Damian Fairchild called.
Seraphina paused.
She answered the call. "What is it?"
"Drinking coffee this late? Aren't you worried you won't be able to sleep?"
Seraphina frowned. "Are you spying on me?"
As she spoke, her eyes instinctively scanned her surroundings.
"Stop looking. I'm across the street."
Seraphina asked, "So, what do you want?"
"Nothing, really. I was just passing by and thought I'd remind you not to drink coffee." He paused. "Have you forgotten what the doctor told you earlier today? Or Dr. Linden's advice? You're on traditional medicine right now. I'd suggest you stay away from coffee."
'Damian was being neurotic,' Seraphina thought. 'Was he really going to tell her she couldn't even have a cup of coffee?'
