Sabrina Ainsworth, standing beside him, didn't even dare to breathe.
She stole a glance at Lionel Langley's face, hesitating before speaking. "Lionel, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have gone to see Miss Sterling without talking to you first..."
Before Sabrina Ainsworth could finish, Lionel Langley shot her a cold look.
"Miss Sterling? Sabrina Ainsworth, you're a smart woman. Some things are better left unsaid, or it gets embarrassing for both of us. I expect you to address her respectfully as Mrs. Langley next time you see her, not 'Miss Sterling'."
Lionel Langley's words left Sabrina Ainsworth utterly mortified.
She clenched her fists but ultimately said nothing.
Seeing her on the verge of tears, Lionel Langley grew impatient. "You have a concussion. What are you doing running around instead of resting in your hospital bed? Get back there now."
