Seraphina Quinn stared at the blurry outline of her reflection in the window. Her voice was calm, devoid of emotion. "Are you in such a hurry?"
Damian Fairchild's voice dripped with sarcasm.
"In a hurry? I can't let you keep using the title of Mrs. Fairchild to care for another man. And I definitely can't condone you spending your days and nights with him while you're still my wife, can I?"
Seraphina's eyelashes drooped as she stared at the tips of her toes.
"He saved my brother's life. I owe him an enormous debt. I promised I'd take care of him until he's fully recovered. If you still have any trust in me, we don't have to get a divorce."
A brief silence fell over the call, with neither of them speaking.
Seraphina heard the sound of wind from Damian's end of the line and guessed he was still driving.
"Are you driving? Let's talk after you get back to the hotel..."
