Hearing that she was going to be sent back, Amy's heart immediately leapt into her throat.
"Uncle, I'll be good and obedient from now on. Please don't send me back, okay? I'm begging you."
The little female cub's low sobs made Laxus feel sympathetic, and he frowned, continuing to persuade his sister.
Ophelia sneered inwardly, thinking that Amy had clearly learned quite a bit from Miche. At the very least, the girl could turn on the tears at a moment's notice.
"Ophelia, this child is your own flesh and blood after all. You can't just abandon her," Laxus said.
Ophelia's lips curled into a mocking smile. "She was the one who wanted to cut ties with me in the first place. We have absolutely no relationship anymore."
"Since you won't take care of her, can I keep Amy here?" Laxus asked tentatively.
"Even if you keep Amy here, I won't spare a single bite of food for her. If you want to raise her, do it yourself." Unwilling to look at Amy any longer, Ophelia turned and left.
