Nico lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
The words from the letter kept repeating in his mind.
"Time has come to destroy the whole world."
And that voice…
"You are the chosen one… to destroy everything and yourself."
His chest felt heavy. Fear, confusion, and curiosity mixed together, making it impossible to think clearly.
"Was it real… or just a dream?" he whispered.
Slowly, exhaustion took over.
And he fell asleep.
The next morning felt… normal.
Too normal.
Nico got ready for school, trying to ignore everything that had happened.
Maybe it was just my imagination, he thought.
At school, students were laughing and talking as usual.
Ron walked towards Nico with a casual smile.
"Hey! Why didn't you come to yesterday evening party?" he asked.
Nico hesitated.
"I was actually going to—"
Before he could finish, Kai suddenly interrupted loudly,
"He probably went to Ms. Mia's shop to purchase a makeup set… like always!"
The class burst into laughter.
Everyone laughed.
Except Ron…
And Sandy.
Her expression turned cold.
"Enough," she said sharply.
The class fell silent.
Without another word, she turned and walked away.
Something didn't feel right.
Nico quickly got up and followed her.
"Ma'am… wait!" he called out.
Suddenly—
BOOM!
A loud sound echoed through the corridor.
Before Nico could react, a stone flew through the air—
And hit Sandy directly on her head.
"Ma'am!" Nico shouted.
She collapsed instantly, blood slowly flowing.
Nico rushed towards her.
"Stay with me… please…" he said, trying to help.
Then again—
BOOM!
Another explosion.
The building shook violently.
A massive concrete block broke loose from above—
And crashed down.
Right onto Sandy.
"N—NO!!" Nico screamed.
Dust filled the air.
When it cleared…
Sandy lay beneath the debris, her body covered in blood.
Nico's hands trembled as he pulled the concrete away with desperate strength.
"Sandy… please… don't do this…"
No response.
Tears filled his eyes.
"I won't let you die."
He lifted her into his arms and ran.
Outside—
The world had changed.
Chaos everywhere.
Smoke rising into the sky.
People screaming.
Vehicles abandoned.
And then…
Nico saw them.
Figures moving unnaturally.
Their bodies twisted… their movements broken… eyes empty.
They wandered—
Until one of them noticed him.
It turned.
And charged.
Fast.
"Stay away!" Nico shouted.
The creature lunged—
Nico reacted on instinct.
He punched.
THUD!
The creature was thrown across the road, lifeless.
Nico froze.
"What… was that?"
He looked at his hand.
That wasn't normal.
More of them turned.
Dozens.
All staring at him.
At Sandy.
They rushed forward.
Nico stepped back.
Fear rising.
But something inside him awakened.
He moved.
Faster.
Stronger.
Punch after punch—
Each strike sending them crashing down.
He didn't think.
He didn't stop.
But they kept coming.
Endless.
His breathing grew heavy.
His vision blurred.
"Why… won't they stop…?"
One grabbed him.
Another lunged.
He fought back—
But his strength began to fade.
His punches slowed.
His body weakened.
"I… can't…"
With one final burst, he struck them back—
And stumbled.
Darkness filled his vision.
Nico collapsed.
Unconscious.
Sandy lay on the road.
Covered in blood.
Not moving.
Around them…
Those creatures slowly began to gather again.
Closing in.
The world had fallen into chaos.
And Nico…
Was only beginning to understand his role in it
