Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - Heavenly Star

An exquisite beauty bathed herself in the spring: silver-white hair was cascading down her back, her exquisite silver eyes gazing at the open night sky through the glass ceiling. Moonlight radiating upon her curves, her submerged body relaxing in the warm water.

Suddenly, the tranquillity of the sky was disrupted. A fast-moving object tore through the sky and headed towards her, whistling in the air and leaving a trail of smoke behind. Before she could react, it shattered the ceiling and crashed into the water ,which evaporated instantly. The ravishing Empress stood there, shocked by the events.

'Empress, are you alright? Can we come in?' asked the guards urgently, fearing something bad happened to her.

'I'm fine, don't come in!' she said hastily, while dressing.

Once the steam cleared, she was shocked to find a baby laying at the bottom of the evaporated spring. His forehead was still glowing with a symbol, a light barrier around, protecting him. The baby was quietly asleep, as if nothing could ever bother him.

His skin was as supple as silk, with only a few whisps of silver hair on his head.

Slowly, the barrier faded away as he woke up. The Empress, not knowing what to do, urgently but gently cradled him in her embrace. As she touched him she felt a sensation, her heart beating fast, a sense of familiarity washed over her, as if something linked them together.

The baby, with surprisingly similar silver eyes, gazed at her gently as he took her presence in. Finding comfort in the Empress's embrace, he drifted back to sleep.

A primordial and calm voice echoed within her mind:

'Heed my word, Sylpha. Bring this child to me'

Hearing the command of the Life Tree, Sylpha made her way towards the Life Tree, with the mysterious baby in her arms. She quickened her footsteps; a dazzling light enveloped them, and they vanished.

Appearing before the Life Tree, Sylpha bowed towards her with respect.

The grand Life Tree stood tall, its sturdy branches reaching high to the sky, while her azure blue, shimmering flowers painted the sky in blue and orange wonders. It looked like a colossal giant holding the up the sky. Her bark was engraved with golden runes, light faded and brightened as if the tree itself were breathing.

The calm atmosphere soothed Sylpha's soul as always, stilling her racing heart. Tiny fairies emerged from behind the trees, flying towards the infant curiously. The surrounding trees shimmered with azure blue blossoms, glistening with harmonious light. The air was filled with the echoes of nature and peace; the wind carried gentle warmth around as it played with the fairies, in this forbidden sanctuary of the elves.

The Life Tree extended her branches, weaving them into a cradle for the infant. Sylpha trusting her, laid him carefully upon the soft leaves.

A primordial voice echoed in her mind:

'The infant is weary from his long journey, I must help him recover, for I am the only one in this world capable of helping.'

'Rest assured, Sylpha. I will take good care of him,' the voice insisted, with gentle yet firm voice.

She retracted her branches, pulling the infant closer to her core.

Tranquillity returned to the garden, the fairies dispersed after waving their goodbyes to Sylpha.

Sylpha's footsteps echoed against the walls as she walked elegantly through the Royal Halls. She headed towards the headquarters; without her permission, nobody dared to speak. She had transitioned from her gentle side to her Empress self--the one who commanded the vast Life Empire with its bountiful kingdoms. It was most flourishing Empire in the History of the Mortal Realm.

The empress headed towards her throne. On her way, she was intercepted by a radiant high elf. Elegantly and urgently headed towards her, disregarding respect, she was her dear sister, Elyndra-the one who lost her powers. Her lilac hair fluttered, the crystals clinking at the end of the strands as they collided. Her ethereal black and white robe was glowing with runes, and a crystal was embedded in her belt.

The Empress sighed and welcomed her with a little smile. Before she could even talk ,she was barged with questions.

'My dear sister, I heard from the guards what happened. Are you okay? 'shouted Elyndra, her breath came in short gasps, and her hands trembled.

'Let me take a look' she told her, and looked all around her to check if she was unhurt.

The Empress's eyes filled with gratitude and affection, she gently giggled and took hold of her hands.

'My dear sister don't worry, I will tell you shortly everything. I am fine; I didn't get hurt,' she reassured her sister. 'Lets get going,' she said.

Meanwhile, the castle walls started to shake as a wide-bodied, man was running towards them. Each of his footstep, like a giant capable of stomping mountains and destroying boulders, was hurrying towards them, thundering.

His golden hair streamed behind him, his holy golden robe fluttered, and a blindingly golden bright armor clung to his frame.

As he kneeled before the Empress the ground cracked bellow him.

'My Empress, I'm sorry for the late arrival. I was at the borders. I hope your Empressness is not hurt anywhere, I will cleanse any evil daring to lay his hands on you, ' he told her, as his huge golden axe glowed on his back.

Sylpha looked comically at the sturdy commander who nearly destroyed the walls as he ran to them; behind her, Elyndra was hiding, peeking through her robe towards the commander.

'I'm not hurt, Thank you for your concern; you defended our borders for thousands of years, my loyal commander, Castiel. Rise up; tell the Venerables that its time to hold council.' told him Sylpha.

'Roger that' said Castiel respectfully.

Suddenly, seeing the figure beside the Empress, he hastily apologized and said ' Sorry for not seeing you, Your highness. Our Runemaster Star… forgive me for not recognizing you faster; my intentions weren't to ignore yourself.'

Elyndra hearing "Runemaster Star " title, sadly said 'Don't call me that, I'm just a broken vessel, not deserving this title anymore.' She said and went silent.

Sylpha, trying to break the atmosphere, said, 'Lets go. I will wait for you in the Council, Castiel. Notify everyone.

Within the room, a heavy silence hung over, as the sovereigns took their places. In the middle sat Sylpha; her posture was imperial. Beside her ,her sister Elyndra. On the right side of the table sat Pyre Thalgor, the King of Dwarves; beside him sat his good friend, Ymiris Kahn, the King of Giants. Even in his small form, he was three meter tall; he was sitting in a chair especially custom-built for him. His small stature was like a mini star -its size small, but its weight that sank the legs of the chair into the ground showed really how heavy he was.

Then, next to them sat the Dryad Queen, the personification of the nature. If Sylpha was the Empress of Elves, she was the Empress of Nature. Her beauty equally breathtaking. Her head was encompassed in a splendid green flower and the crown was like huge petals. Her curvy body had an alluring dress down to the ground; the dress itself was green, but embedded in it were thousands of flowers as they bloomed not long ago.

On the other side of the table was Castiel, commander of the Life Empire army. Respected ,his fame reached the farthest lands, and his name is know even in the most secluded corners of the world. Next to him sat the Venerable Aethelgard, the oldest of them all, the wisest and the calmest; sometimes even the Empress would get advices from him. His power fearsome; legends were around him all around the world.

Finally there sat Sylthar Kael. His sombre gaze looking calmly towards them all. His dark robe , embedded with runes, made him look timeless. His green long hair little combed and rest flowing down, made him look handsome. He was the husband of the Elyndra and the well respected Alchemist of the Elves.

The silence was permeated by a royal aura , gaining the attention of everyone, as the Empress started to speak:

'I have convened this council to tell what unfolded today in the spring.' She calmy looked around, then continued her speech: 'A mysterious object descended from the sky. It came with sky-piercing speed and crashed.' She waited for the Venerables to take in what she said.

'A little baby was contained inside, defended by a barrier which slowly faded. The baby was taken by the Life Tree to recuperate. I would like to tell you all to keep this a secret from anyone till we get to the end of it. This is the beginning of something, and we shall be prepared to face it.'

Pyre Thalgor stroked his beard in deep thought and said , 'We should wait for the command of the Life Tree and treasure this precious child. If he is that important to the Life Tree, then something bigger is commencing as we speak.' Thalgor spoke his thought out loud.

Ymiris Kahn suddenly shouted, surprising everyone, 'A BABY FROM THE SKY?!How is that possible? The Mortal Realm has been sealed since thousands of years; no one could penetrate its barrier! How was this little one capable of penetrating it?' he said, as his chair sank deeper into the ground.

Punching Ymiris on the shoulder playfully, the Dryad Queen said: 'Show respect in the presence of the Empress,'she smiled apologetically and asked, 'I hope you will allow us to meet this little one when the time comes. We all agree that something so rare could help us open the barrier that has been sealed for thousands of year.'

Suddenly, the Venerable Aethelgard's eyes went white. His body shook as sweat oozed from his forehead, and his eyes and orifices began bleeding.

'The prophecy …the child… the one who is destined to lead cough, cough to conquer and to save…huph, huph the salvation of gods and the Asura of the Outsiders…Morvadeus' he said hastily before he fainted, drawing everyone's attention to him.

Sylthar Kael who had been silent in deep thought the whole time, sprang into action. He laid the Venerable Aethelgard down and carefully took out a medicine to feed him.

'Don't worry, it's exhaustion. His Law of Heavenly Fate, always takes a huge toll on his body, as it always comes unexpectedly. Elyndra, help me take him to the infirmary, I will concoct a pill for his soul to mend his injuries and soothe his mind.'
