Diego had been called a lot of things as he grew up.Freak, monster,bully, psycho and many other harsh words but 'Demon?' That was a new one.
"A demon...you mentioned 'AXE" fights them didn't you..." Diego asked.His expression was unreadable.
"Yeah kid.Angels, demons and so much more " Ivankov replied.
"Does that mean you'll try to end me? Because if that's your plan,I'm not going down without a fight..." Diego said coldly.Ivankov kept driving even as he noticed the shift in the atmosphere of the car.
"You're not an enemy Diego.You can rest easy for now."Ivankov reassured.
"So you were a demon this whole time?And you didn't tell me?" Misa huffed out in petulant annoyance."I knew you weren't normal but being a demon is something else"She muttered while pulling his cheek.
"Are they really that special?"Diego asked Ivankov as he took another sharp turn.
"Rare is the word you're looking for."Ivankov replied.In a few minutes,they arrived at a run down building.Diego stepped out of the car and examined the tall building Infront of them.It looked like a factory and was multiple stories high.
"This is your first mission.There's an ' ~E~ Rank Abomination' in there and you're going to kill it before it breaks out of there and kills more people."Ivankov patted Diego on the back.
"An abominations gonna be no problem for a demon like you Diego!Good luck!" Misa cheered.Diego smiled at her for a brief moment then,his face went back to cold and stoic once more.
"I'll try not to die in there."Diego said quietly and walked into the factory.
"Don't you think an ~E~ rank's a bit too easy for him?"Misa asked Ivankov who was busy looking at something on his phone.
"No.Its actually perfect for him.He can't control his Hell breaker on command and this might help him get a better grasp of it...if he doesn't die first."
"Sir...what did you just say?"
"What?I said he can't control his Hell Breaker."
"With all due respect sir...ARE YOU CRAZY?!"Misa suddenly yelled.She grabbed Ivankov by the collar of his suit and began to shake him violently."WHAT IF HE DIES IN THERE?!I CANT JUST LET THAT HAPPEN!" She scolded and let go of his suit.She turned to go after Diego but Ivankov suddenly held her wrist.
"Don't do that.He's not a kid who needs babysitting and he knows the risk that come with what he's doing."Ivankov told her.Misa reluctantly stood still for a moment.
"This isn't right sir...you can't just expect me to sit back and watch him die can you?"She muttered and bit back a tear.
"From what I've seen, Diego's someone whose will won't break easily.If he puts his mind on doing something, he'll die before he fails to accomplish his goal.Just have faith in him and hope he can make it out alive."Ivankov adjusted his suit mad leaned back on his car.
"Fine...I'll let him handle it"Misa grumbled and looked up at the run down factory.
Once Diego got inside,he was met with dim lights which made the rest of his surroundings barely visible.He looked around and saw abandoned and scraped cars.The stairs and railings were decrepit and barely usable but Diego didn't mind.His goal right now was to find whatever abomination was hiding in here.He traversed the building, making sure to explore as much of it as he possiblity could but there was no sign of life except for some stray cats and mice.Diego guessed the abomination might have left before he had arrived.
He began to make his way down the stairs.He let out a frustrated groan as he walked down.Then something hit him... something large and hard.'WHAM!!!'The force of the hit knocked all the air out of his lungs and he was blown down,all the way to the ground floor if the factory where he slammed into the side of a car.
He gasped breathlessly and coughed up blood.It took him a moment to finally get his bearings back and when he looked up,he finally saw it...The Abomination...It had the torso of a woman but in place of her legs,it had a long snake like tail which was over twelve metres long.One look and Diego knew it was the abominations tail that had hit him.The abomination hissed,revealing numerous rows of jagged fangs and it looked quite pissed off.
Diego got back to his feet.His head was bleeding and his body felt like it was on fire but he smirked."Come On You Bastard!Is That All You've Got?!"Diego yelled in challenge.He gripped his jacket tighter and got ready for the abominations next attack.The abomination hissed in response and slithered at Diego with insane speed.
It was too fast for Diego and the best he could to was lift his arms up to block it.'BOOM!!!'The creatures slender fist crashed right into Diego's arms, cracking the bones in them and sending him tumbling into another heap of scrapped cars.
'SHHK!'A metal pipe beside the car he landed on ripped right through his back and it's tip was protruding from his chest.He grit his teeth and bit back the pain.He lifted his head and spat out some blood.He tried to lift his arms but found the task brought unbearable pain and soon enough,the abomination caught up to him in a flash.It unleashed a flurry of deadly punch on him.'Whump,tak,boom,thud,whack!'It continued to beat I'm up until the whole surface of the car underneath them was stained in blood.
It stopped it's hellish attack for a moment and studied Diego.It was surprised he was still alive.Most of it's other victims would be subdued with a simple whack of its tail but this red haired boy seemed more alive than ever.The abomination tilted it's head to the side and hissed again.Slowly...torturously,it started pulling Diego off the metal pipe.He screamed at the suddenly pain and tried to figth the abominations grip.The creature hissed violently in response before slamming a slender fist right on the side of Diego's head.He went silent...not dead yet...just silent.After what felt like an eternity,it freed Diego from the metal bar.It looked at him for a long moment until finally,it tossed him unto the floor in boredom.
The world became a blur.His body suddenly felt warm and blissful.His breathing slowed and his limbs felt heavier than ever."I'm...I'm dying aren't I..." He whispered to himself.His head weakly turned to the side where the abomination was still slithering towards him but then,his eyes landed on something familiar...the sleeve of his jacket...and soon, memories of his mother followed.He smiled for a moment but then the smile faded."I can't die here...Not until I give it back to her..." The words left his lips and as he did,the same familiar dark aura slowly began to envelope his body once again.
The abomination noticed Instantly and slowly backed off.Diego got up to his feet.The pain was still there and it wasn't dulled in the slightest."If a demon is what I really am...Then a demon is what I'll become!"He yelled.The ground around him shook and with it came his demonic form.His eyes grew redder than before.Two sharp fangs grew in his mouth.Two wings,large and made of dark energy instead of feathers grew from his back."HELL BREAKER..."
The abomination hissed loudly and charged at him.Diego dashed out of the way and grabbed to tail of the abomination.'FWOOM!' Diego tossed the abomination with phenomenal strength and it crashed through multiple cars.For the first time since he got it,Diego examined his new form.This was his Hell Breaker form and he just found it's trigger.He smirked wickedly and wiped some blood off his lips.
It didn't take long for the abomination to come slithering at him again but this time,it managed to catch him off guard.It coiled itself around him tightly,restricting his movement and squeezing the air out of him.Diego growled and tried to break free but it was no use.The abominations tail had too much strength.As it coiled tighter,Diego could hear more bones cracking and breaking.In a moment of pure desperation,he sank his fangs into the tail of the abomination.It hissed in pain and gripped Diego hair, forcing him to release it's tail.It hissed loudly at him again but this time,Diego hissed back at it.
It then swooped it's head down towards Diego's neck with all it's fangs in display.Diego reacted quickly enough and moved his head out of the way.In a split second, Diego sank his fangs right into the abominations neck instead.It shrieked in pain and tightened it's death coil around him and swung desperate fits at his head but Diego didn't budge.He bit down harder and harder, bearings the pain until the abominations death coil weakened and eventually loosened completely.Its fists stopped swinging and it's head leaned to the side...It was dead...
Diego's jaws relaxed and let go of it.He fell to the ground and caught his breath."Bastard... that was fun..."he sighed and patted the dead abomination on the head in a surprisingly friendly manner.He got up and as he did,his Hell Breaker form revered back to normal.He grabbed to abomination by the tail and dragged it out of the now completely wrecked factory with him.Once he got out,he saw Misa standing beside the car with tears at the corner of her eyes and a pout on her face.
"I uhh...I beat it" Diego said awkward and pointed at the corpse he was dragging.Misa squealed and hugged him tight."Ow!I kinda got impaled right there!"Diego groaned but she didn't let go of him.If anything,she squeezed him tighter."Too tight!My bones are gonna break allover again"He yelled and that's when she finally let go.He was pissed and and ready to yell at Misa but when he look into her eyes,he saw nothing but genuinely worry and relief.
"Is all this blood yours?"She asked and examined his wounds.She gasped when she realized exactly how badly he had been hurt but when she looked at him,he smiled like he didn't have a care it the world...like the pain didn't even matter."How are you even still alive?" She said and took a few steps back.
"You did good today kid"Ivankov chimed in from the side of his car.
"It wasn't too bad "Diego said.
"I'm sure it wasn't "Ivankov said sarcastically."C'mon you two.Were going back to the school."
"Alright sir.He does neet to get patched up after all" Misa demanded.
The drive back to the school was short.Diego's mind was preoccupied with memories of the fight he just had.He was so close to dying but thanks to his Hell Breaker,his wounds seemed to have closed up and he could feel his bones mending themselves together again.Eventually,he fell asleep in car and work up when the got back to Hunter High.He stepped out of the car and stretched around a bit.He felt off now...like he wasn't himself anymore...maybe he never was ...
"I'll show you your dorm.There should be an extra set of clothes in there for you.Misa, You should get some rest yourself.I'll see you tomorrow"Ivankov said and Misa nodded
"You're no good to anyone if you're dead Diego.Try not to die next time you fight" Misa said and waved one last goodbye before walking away
Diego waved back and smiled but as soon as Misa was out of sight,he turned to Ivankov and scowled."You sick bastard!You knew I was still hurt about Misa's death and the first person you introduce me to is...you know what,fuck you.I'm too tired for this..."Diego sighed.He looked down at his bloodied shirt and jacked and frowned."I know where the damn dorms are and I don't need anyone checking on me or my injuries....Just leave me alone."Diego grumbled and walked away without another word.He could hear Ivankov saying something but he was honestly too tired to try to Listen.He got to the dorm house and searched until he found one with his name carved in the door.
Diego twisted the door handle but it was locked.He snarled and shoved to door right off it's hinges."Home sweet home...I guess..."Me muttered and walked in.He spent the next few minutes trying to fix the door and after giving up,he took a shower and went right to sleep and the soft bed in his room.His dreams were filled with bad memories and when he woke up,he felt like he might as well be dead.
He sat up on his bed and yawned loudly.He turned to his right and froze in confusion.Leaning on a wall beside his bed was a young man.Dark eyes,black hair and standing over 6'5.He had a sheathed katana at his back and had an emotionless look in his eye's.
"Diego Torrez...It's a pleasure to meet you" He said.The greeting was clearly meant to be casual but it sounded more hostile than intended.
"How did you get in here" Diego asked wearily as he got up to his feet.
"Your doors broken.You're way too careless for my liking as well" The stranger said and pushed himself off the wall.He stalked around the room and examined Diego's things without permission.Diego watched cautiously but when the strangers arm touched his jacket,anger flared inside her.
"Get your hands off it!" He warned but then,the stranger vanished...not like a dramatic poof or anything...he vanished.Diego was confused but then,he felt the cold blade of a katana on his neck.
"You're slower than I thought you would be as well...are you really who you say you are?" The stranger asked as he appeared behind Diego.Diego didn't move because he knew one wrong move cold mean death here.
"I am...and who exactly are you?" Diego asked.
"My name is 'Frost Wheeler'...I'm a demon...just like you..."
