Time seems to flow by slowly as if afraid that it miss a part of the scene before it. And the stillness of the moments were quite suffocating for Dan.
"what is it all about????" he asked
Richard passed the document and the file to Dan "it is better to read it and k ow it yourself cause I might omit some details out to go straight to point" he said as he took a sip fro the tea that was on the table but he didn't like it..... "nah too cold" he said as he dropped it back on the table.
Dan took the file and opened it with his heart pounding hard against his rib cage..... Immediately he opened the documents he went through it and he looked like someone stroke with lightning.
"you want to adopt me..." he asked with his eyes now on Richard
"that is right kiddo, am adopting you... That is what the arrangement is all about"
Dan kept quite for a while still looking at the file in his hand..... "was my mom or should I say my supposed mom in support, cause I know that she would not agree with this whole arrangement thing" he said looking down at his figures as he felt sad. This opportunity was great but his mother would never want something this good come into his life, she hate him and she shows it when given the chance.
"oh she agreed alright, she said I could take a mistake out her house that she didn't care, she also said you were a good means of getting money.... Sooo that just live with you, are you agreeing or not" Richard said as he took his stands walking to the door..... "think about this really....." he wanted to complete his speech but was cut off with a reply he clearly wasn't expecting. Not that he never expected it but this was too soon and then again it left him stunned.
"I agree, so where do I sign Mr Richard... Besides this is the best offer I could possibly get. It is better than sleeping on the street and continuing running for the rest of my little life" Dan replied determined.
"but you didn't think it through, normally you should have waited for like a day to make your decision but you agreed already." Richard was beyond surprised.
"that is when you have a second option but on my own end I don't, so I accept the deal, arrangement or whatever this is... So where do I sign"
Dan asked.
Mr Richard pointed out the column for Dan's signature "here... You sign here and that seals the arrangement. You will forever be my step son" he said trying to see if Dan will back down.
He was more stunned when Dan signed on his column and gave the file back to Mr Richard "and done sir..."
"point of correction dad.... It's dad now not longer sir or Mr Richard OK Danny my boy" Mr Richard corrected Dan
"yes.... dad....." Dan said looking grateful for this, cause he had always wanted to call that word again ever since his father died. He has missed the warmth of having a father figure but not just that he had a new family he was going to be with, a new mother who would love him.... I think, a father willing to go any lengths just for him and siblings who he had never met but knew that they were what he needed in his life. Now he was abandoning his old family, but got accepted into a new one.
'thank you God, and thanks dad for seeing me through all those years of torment, I can't wait to meet my new family' he thought as tears started falling out of his eyes.
Mr Richard cleaned the tears before saying "hey kiddo get some rest tomorrow we are taking you to see the rest of your new family" he flashed a small smile to Dan.
Feeling overwhelmed Dan hugged his new father figure sniffing in between tears that still fell off his eyes rolling down through his pale rosey cheeks down to Mr Richard's shoulder "thank you very much" he managed to say before letting go.
"it's nothing Dan, get some rest and await the wonders of tomorrow" he said before getting up from the bed making his way to the door
"goodnight Mr rich..... Sorry goodnight dad" he paused "am so sorry, haven't been used to it yet" he whispered in a low voice.
"goodnight Danny, and don't sweat it kid. It takes time and am not going anywhere now go to bed, tomorrow is a big day for you and for you to forget all your past life here in this hospital and start a fresh..... Start a whole new chapter with us"
"I won't let you down..... Dad"
"I know you won't" Mr Richard said as he opens the door before closing it behind him.
Dan felt at ease before releasing his Breath he never knew he held for long..... Who knew he had a gift like that.
Then he signed real deep as if releasing some weight of his shoulders.
" now I have a new chance to life just cause of you dad.... Thank you and you are right, my journey is just about to begin... Now am not Dan Miller anymore am Dan lock-wood" he said it with determination in his eyes.

The ride was quite for a while, neither Dan or his new father figure spoke just yet. Both enjoying the silent of the ride as the early morning breeze blew into the car. Speaking of car Dan was holding his cool and he minded the way he sat on the seat of the car.... For crying out loud this is one of the biggest models of BMW.
His appearance made Mr Richard to chuckle before crossing his arm across Dan's shoulder.... "relax son, you will soon have some of the best cars as your property. And besides your siblings will be drilled to see you, they will be waiting for us at the living room" he said still looking at the front.

'they are drilled to see me..... Is he pulling my leg or is he for real, at this point I will see how things turn out' he thought. The ride home.... Home... He felt happy to have one. A home to call his own. The ride to his home was a journey he looked forward to.

The car stopped at a mighty gate... If someone could fall in love with an object it will definitely be this gate. It was beyond beautiful, wonderful and fabulous. It was fascinating and fancy. It was perfection at its peak.
Then the securities at the gate opened the gate for the car to drive in. Even opening the gate was like opening the gate of heaven..... What a blissful sight.
Entering through the gate was like entering a new world. The driveway was perfectly aline and arranged, the flowers and little trees were trimmed to perfection. The water fountain was on a whole level. All these were magnificent, and what amazed and kept him wondering was that this place was also his home now. He truly had left his home, away from his problem of a mother.
Then there was a beautiful field with soccer tools and also with a basketball net.
'this is a field for sports.... Am already loving this place' he thought as they continued to drive.
The drive from the gate to the main building was five to six minutes. The car stopped at the main entrance before another set of securities came to the car opening the door for Dan and Mr Richard.
Dan came down from the car with his step father but he stopped on his track as he take in the view of the mansion.... No castle that was before him. "..... beautiful....." he murmured making his father smile.
"am happy you like your new home"
"welcome home sir and young master" some maids walked up to them greeting them.
'young master.... Are they referring to someone else or is it just me'
Then a girl ran out hugging Mr Richard "welcome back dad..." she said before pulling away from him looking around like she was looking for something... "where is he, you said he would be here today" she said pouting.
Mr Richard just laughed lightly before introducing someone standing behind him "lizzy.... Let me introduce you to your brother Dan"
The girl named lizzy jumped up before rushing to meet Dan where he stood.... "hi am lizzy..... Your new sister" she introduced herself to him hugging him.
"am Dan.... Nice to meet you lizzy" he said in the middle of their little hug.
"let him be lizz.... He must be tired" someone said walking along side with a middle age woman.
"hey Nicolas you are really mean and boring..... Am just welcoming our new brother"
"but you are waring him out...." he said before facing Dan "hi Nice to meet you am Nicolas" he introduced himself bringing out his hand for a handshake.
"am Dan, and it is nice to meet you too" he shaked Nicolas hand.
"how wonder... He's such a nice, fragile boy" the middle age woman said taking Dan into her hands smiling at him.... "you are in good hands my dear..... You can call me Emma"
Dan smiles back at her enjoying the warmth he was having "no I will call you mom..."
"am flattered..... Thanks my dearest and welcome to the family"
"let's all go inside..... Family" Mr Richard said.
"alright dad" the kids shouts all together.
Lizzy beamed with joy as he ran inside holding her new best friend Dan with Nicolas walking behind them and their parents walking hand in hand.
'am happy to call this people my family....' Dan thought while smiling as laughing as he ran inside along side lizzy.
This was a new beginning for Dan.

Am just happy that the lock-wood family took and accepted Dan Miller because that boy had been served torture for the past three years.
