Chapter 1 - The Eye That Swallowed The Mountain

In the loud, angry and thunderous snow storm a lone figure stood at the edge of cliff scoping out the mountain range in the distance ahead.

The hail mixed the snow pelted his cloak that covered his whole body.

No trace of skin was visible nor a sign of what the figure was either.

Then it spoke.

"It's bloody freezing out here!! The boss better be doubling my cut for this shit."

It's voice was a low deep and metallic grovel that seemed odd to the ear.

As he finished the cloak seemed to flatten as if the thing inside was no longer present and then like phantom it glided across the hill while floating slightly off the ground.

Following the cliffs flat side down and then continuing towards the mountain on the ground below.

So far it's goal was unclear but it was clearly in search of something.

Eventually it reached the mountain range but upon reaching it stopped and the cloak became full again.

"I can't see in here, my all seeing eye is being distorted."

It put out its arm and through the cloak traced its finger over the ice that was covering the mountains side.

It's interest peaking when it reached a line in the ice.

Following it he soon realised it was more like a symbol and so he created a small orb that produced a soft white light and there it was.

An ancient looking symbol.

It's origin nothing the creature had learnt or seen before.

Shook by this he prepared himself for the worst and began to recite a spell.

"Fiera ortorta manja."

He whispered it saying each syllable and vowels with immense care.

Then the ice shattered.

But to his suprise nothing happened.

Cautiously he walked in side, the little orb of light following him the whole way his only source of light.

But the more he travelled the more he felt like something wrong.

Out of habit he turned around and the back way looked exactly the same as the front and so did every side.

He continuously turned around shocked and in disbelief of what was happening.

"How can something this powerful and ancient be all the way down here in this shit hole. My all seeing eye can't even see a damned thing and it's supposed to be fucking S-class."

He continued to curse the further he moved.

Eventually he reached an edge and just as he thought no matter where he turned he was still at that edge and the fall downward looked endless.

"If I die in this place I'll never hear the end of it."

The cloak once again looked empty as he jumped down.

He fell for what felt like forever until with immense force he reached the bottom.

A loud groan was heard as the cloaked filled again.

As his head looked up he now saw that he was in cavern lit by torches with black fire.

The ground was see through as clear water passed through and his first thoughts were 'this is beautiful' but it was shortly replaced by rows and rows of insults.

As before him he saw a legion of monsters all staring at him.

They comprised of two types.

The almost indestructible purple slimes that had neon purple flames coated around their bodies that melted almost anything that came near.

Beside them were obsidian skeletons.

Holding different weapons, the skeletons wore stone aged warrior attire and in the middle was a large one with a lions head as a hood.

It's skull visible through the mouth and in its language it let out a sound like a battle cry and the monsters surged forward.

"Puppet sorcerer's art! Melo puoperto manges!"

And from his cloak came out two very distinctive wooden creatures.

One was box that had strings on the top while the other was a humanoid slider that had four swords and two spears.

Moving his fingers the puppets moved in almost perfect precision.

The spider moved around fighting the monsters in hand to hand combat but mainly focused on cutting out the cores of the slimes.

While box occasionally trapped some inside before decreasing in size.

This only worked on the Skelton's as the sound of their bodies being crushed was deafening and honestly horrifying to hear.

Then the strings snapped and the puppets disappeared but a good number of monsters were left.

"My mana's done, this isn't good."

Removing a vase from his coat he looked at the the incoming swarm.

"I got no choice."

He opened the top of the vase and then suddenly a light came out of it.

It shook violently cracking slowly and finally shattered.

Out came a giant Ork.

It looked around and saw the army Infront of it and began to smile like a child looking at new toys.

In an instant it charged not even rendering the presence of the figure.

In the confusion the figure slipped out and continued down the path.

Eventually the sound of fighting died down but to make sure he blocked the path behind him but causing the the roof to cave in behind it.

Eventually it reached a statue.

Where its face was supposed to be was blank.

It's body was extremely muscular and it was dressed in a robe that had a weird effect to it.

The strangest thing was that it was wearing a ring.

It looked older than anything he had seen before.

It was a dark shade of silver and had black engravings all around it.

And to top it all off, a purple jewel sat on top of it.

"Now that's a treasure if I've ever seen one."

It said and reached over to grab it.

Immediately it left the statue's finger he heard a loud sound that removed all joy from him.

The jewel had cracked.

Seven distinctive lines had formed all around it.

"No! No! No! This is a load of bull shit!"

He exclaimed loudly as if shouting at the world for being unfair but in the end he was just aimlessly shouting at himself.

Then the statue moved it's head and looked down at its finger.

The man suddenly seemed less interested in the ring getting damaged and more interested in the statue.

"Ino colosa!"

The statue said pointing at the ring.

"Oh no buddy, it's already damaged and that's bad but showing up empty handed is worse. Even if it's now probably worthless."

Then the sound of stone breaking sounded as the statue came of its platform and pulled it's sword that changed from marble to metal in a matter of seconds.

"Shen ouy ilwl iedie."

And the statue then moved to the man.

Swing it's sword at incredible pace even though it was made of marble.

It barely dodged the statues attacks.

Eventually he used his sorcery to create a small physical enhancement spell that barely did anything but it kept him afloat.

Knowing it's mana wasn't enough to take on something of this powerful, it moved to the corner and from the shadow he pulled out a bird.

"Make sure it reaches the boss you understand."

The bird with a nod took the ring in its foot and flew off.

The statue seeing this released a stream of black fire at the bird that began to follow it as it flew looking for a way out.

"You're strong I'll give you that much, but I won't go down without taking this whole place with me."

The statue unfazed moved in and bashed the figures jaw with the hilt of its blade making a loud crushing noise and making blood ooze out slowly.

It followed up with a less than generous knee to the gut planting it's knee firmly as it pinched his face non stop.

In seconds it's fist was covered with the figure blood.

As it prepared to finish him off it took down the hood revealing the figures face.

He was a man that had two closed eyes above two opened ones, long white hair that was balding in the middle, extremely skinny face that brought out the outline of his skull, pale skin tone and lips were accompanied by red irises in both opened eyes.

The man stared at the statue and smiled.

"It's time to go boom mother fucker."

At his words the other pair of eyes opened and then they all fused forming one big eye.

Then Infront of the eye a whirlpool of light appeared.

It began by sucking in the man's body before beginning to suck in the whole mountain.

The bird barely managed to escape when the whole mountain range was sucked in and that remained was a giant pit.

As the bird soared the fire kept on coming closer not providing it with a seconds rest.

Eventually after reaching outside the frost land the bird fell due to fatigue.

The fire consumed it in a cruel fate and it burnt to ash within seconds of being touched.

The ring fell.

Reaching it's terminal velocity but eventually finding itself falling into a slime inside a conspicuous looking forest.

Not minding what had just happened the slime continued on its way.

Meanwhile in another part of the frost plain there stood a tiny village.

A young man was stood in front of a mirror struggling to fix his tie as someone began to pound on his door shouting.

"Natsuki! Natsuki! Hurry up were about to leave you for your own party."

"I'm coming just a little longer."

"I hope so, don't forget this is your last time sleeping home for a long time."

"I know Luhan! You don't need to remind me!"

"Just making sure!"

With those words the boys feet could be heard walking away.

After sometime Natsuki finished and frowned.

"It's finally my sixteenth birthday, I should be happy but what's a powerless wreck like me gonna do out there in the world when I can barely kill a pixie on my own."

He sighed deeply pulling on his jacket and walking to the door.

"I guess life just sucks, but now it's gonna suck even more."

He left the room banging the door and inside the room a picture drops on it was Natsuki with his fair skin, black hair, brown eyes, average body and mid looks.

But what was scary was how thin Natsuki was, he looked malnourished with bow legs and capped knees.

Next to him was a boy who looked maybe 4 years younger than him but was almost the same height and build as him.

His brother was fine, he even looked extremely fit for his age.

They were practicing sword play as a man watched obviously their father and a woman who was their mother help medical equipment just in case.

And then just as abruptly a book fell on the picture cracking the glass of the frame and on the left stood Natsuki alone and on the other side stood everyone else.

Then Natsuki's voice was audible.

"Well I better man up no use complaining about the way everything already is."

And with that his footsteps could be heard moving away from the room slowly but surely fading away into the distance.
