Chapter 11 - Not The Same Anymore

Aira was deeply hurt.

She overthought everything.

Every message.

Every word.

Every silence.

She didn't want to talk to anyone.

She just wanted to be with herself.

But still—

she couldn't forget what Aarohi had said.

She didn't give up.

She kept talking to her.

Aarohi saw her as a friend.

But Aira—

felt something much more.

Two or three days passed.

Aira finally understood.

It wasn't infatuation.

It wasn't just attraction.

It was something deeper.

She made a decision.

A difficult one.

One day, she texted—

"Hey… you're just my crush. Nothing more."

"Everything is sorted now. I hope you understand."

Aarohi read the message.

"Do you think love is a game?" she replied.

Aira quickly typed—

"No. Never. Sometimes I just don't

understand what I'm feeling."

She knew the truth.

She loved her.

But she still said those words.

"I know people like this," Aarohi replied.

"Who don't understand their own feelings."

"Sorry… I can't talk to you anymore."

Aira's heart dropped.

"Why?"

"Because for you, this is just a game," Aarohi said.

"Playing with someone's feelings."

"No… it's not like that," Aira replied desperately.

"You've changed," Aarohi said.

"You're not the same Aira anymore."

"We won't talk from now."

Aira felt everything slipping away.

"What happened to you?"

"Please… let's sort this out."

"Don't leave like this."

She sent message after message.

But Aarohi just saw them.

And didn't reply.

Aira was broken.

Every day, she tried to talk.

But there was no response.

Only silence.

One day—

she stopped texting.

Aira was active.

Online.

Seeing everything.

She wanted to text her.

So badly.

Her fingers would stop on the keyboard—

typing…

deleting…

typing again…

and then nothing.

Because she knew—

Aarohi didn't want to talk to her.

And on the other side—

Aarohi was the same.

She saw Aira online.

Read her messages.

But didn't reply.

She was angry.

Hurt.

Disappointed.

But deep inside—

she wanted to talk to her too.

More than she wanted to admit.

Again and again, she picked up her phone.

Opened the chat.

Stared at the screen.

But then—

she closed it.

Controlling herself.

Stopping herself.

Because she believed—

this distance was necessary.

Even if it hurt.

Days passed like that.

After almost ten days—

a message came.

From Aarohi.

"I asked Jesus if I should forgive you…"

"And I felt like I should."

"Maybe you've changed for your good."

"So… I forgive you."

Aira stared at the message.

She felt happy.

After so many days—

finally, a reply.

But deep inside—

something had changed.

She didn't feel the same excitement anymore.

She wanted to talk.

But at the same time—

she didn't.

Still—

she acted normal.

They talked again.

But not like before.

Not special.

Not exciting.

Not warm.

Just normal.

Like a formality.

Aira stared at the chat.

They were talking again.

But something felt missing.

She smiled at the screen—

but it didn't reach her eyes.

Before, every message felt special.

Now—

it just felt normal.

Before, she used to wait for her texts.

Now—

she replied without excitement.

The same person.

The same chat.

But not the same feeling.

And that hurt more than the silence.
