Everything was as it should be.
Humanity cultivated in the field of technology and science, developing high-end equipment that would be considered extraterrestrial to those in the past.
This resulted in a one world government, with new laws being established to maintain order and strict protocols.
By 3020, the wars of the world had ceased and interstellar travel became possible, equipping humanity with materials thought to be unachievable.
Most of the world was kept in the dark about the new developments, slowly releasing the information to the public while maintaining order with the task of appealing to the masses.
Unfortunately, the government officials became ignorant to the disasters of interstellar travel. This became apparent when their first successful contact with extraterrestrial beings, led to a declaration of war.
THE FIRST INTERSTELLAR WAR
It was inevitable.
No matter how much the government prepared in secret and kept the public in the dark, they knew that this war would expose everything.
This was the countdown to humanities extinction.
Then one fateful day, a mysterious object appeared in the sky, casting a shadow so wide it nearly engulfed half the planet.
It started with intense electromagnetic interference that disabled communication world wide.
Then came the first laser that wiped an entire state from the map, leaving a crater so wide that a new lake has formed.
The weather roared in anguish and struck with natural disasters that continued to rack up body counts.
Then two more laser struck the planet, altering the its surface and shifting tectonic plates.
Before humanity knew it, these extraterrestrial beings were terraforming the planet.
THE PRESENT...
It has been a year since the interstellar war has been made public to the masses, ensuing global wide panic and fear.
Scientist has discovered a mutation within specific individual's born with a dormant gene from former extraterrestrial's who've integrated within human society.
This mutation gave birth to beings capable of altering the very aspects of scientific concepts, which government officials have labeled them 'enforcers'.
Due to their closeness with extraterrestrial beings, the government had decided to ensure a man-hunt to eradicate those with special abilities.
Unfortunately, they've underestimated the power of these 'enforcers' and in just a single day, these 'enforcers' had taken control of certain parts of the world.
As of currently, scientist have managed to capture a single 'enforcers' and through various means of experiments, they've began developing advanced technology that suppress these abilities.
....
"I can't believe it's been a year. I think it's about time I escape this place now."
Mikey proclaimed this aloud without a shred of care despite Aiya being present within the room that kept him captive.
This statement alerted Aiya, her expression becoming one of worry at the mention of escaping, though she tried her best not to show her growing fear.
While Mikey stared absent-mindedly at the ceiling, Aiya took the opportunity to sneakily make her way towards an object shaped like a handgun.
"I grew fond of you Aiya. Please don't make me do something I'll regret."
Mikey sudden cold demeanor had made Aiya freeze in place, his icy tone causing shivers to run up her spine and with a sigh, she reluctantly stepped away from the desk containing the advanced weapon.
"Why try to escape now? You know they've got suppressants to counteract your ability right?"
Aiya asked with genuine curiosity as if it was the stupidest thing to ever possibly imagine.
The statement made Mikey chuckle, then he finally turned to look towards her direction, his dead ocean blue eyes stared absently at her emerald green eyes, filled with a growing sense of anxiety and fear.
"True, but they do not know the full extent of my power...I am still growing and with more knowledge...I can achieve something far beyond human logic."
Mikey stated as if it were obvious, his tone still an icy cold and devoid of emotion. Afterward, he stood up and began walking towards the first door that blocked him away from freedom.
Aiya took a fearful step to the side as Mikey made his way to the door. She could only watch helplessly as his back finally faced her as if he did not consider a threat at all.
That's when the fear of being dealt with by the government, driven her to hurriedly take the weapon on the desk and open fire at Mikey.
"I figured..."
A hushed whisper left his mouth the moment he heard the subtle shuffling of Aiya's feet.
Then the rapid loud bang from the weapon being shot multiple times echoed within the room.
There was nothing but silence afterward.
Until the distinct sound of a body collapsing to the floor reached the remaining person ears.
Mikey stood unharmed while Aiya laid with blood spilling from her body, multiple bullet wounds covered her body. Then she took the gasp of her last breath, the light in her eyes fading into the depths of the cold abyss.
Mikey remained standing at the door for a few more seconds, then he left, also leaving the door open for the next person to see.
As he walked the corridors of the facility, an alarm blared through the intercoms and the heavy stomping of armored soldiers shook the ground, alerting Mikey that they've just discovered the situation.
"Damn. I've got no choice but to do that."
Mikey eyebrows furrowed in contemplation, then he held out both hands, clasping them together as the mark on his chest flared to life.
SPATIAL DISTORTION
The literal space around Mikey's hand had begun to twist in an abnormal direction, then began to bend in the opposite of the direction it was twisting.
This generated a spiralling effect on the environment within an immediate five meter radius.
That's when a few soldiers came found around the corner and spotted Mikey, raising their weapons and firing. Unfortunately the suppressant bullets were warped the moment it came into the distortion field around Mikey.
Then in seconds, the distortion rapidly expanded outward, engulfing everything in the immediate area and creating a wide hole that exposed the outside.
"Freedom!"
Mikey yelled out in pure ecstasy, a wide smile gracing his face as he leap upward and out of the destroyed opening.
Meanwhile....
"Android Model 4245, you are tasked with securing the newest awakened enforcer."
This proclamation came from a man adorned in formal attire and around him sat four other individual's, including a silver haired android built with the autonomy of a woman.
"Understood."
Her reply was autonomous and lacked the aspect of human nature, it was like a machine complying to a command.
"Do whatever is necessary, after all you're our ticket to winning this war and with these enforcer's secured, we can overpower those extraterrestrial's"
Another individual proclaimed, though instead of a voice of masculinity, it was a bittersweet tone of feminity that clearly held disdain for the android.
The other's that were present all nodded in non verbal confirmation, staring at the android as if it were dirt beneath their shoes.
'Their staring like that again...'
These were the thoughts of the android made to be the embodiment of scientific perfection.
A Few Hours After The Escape...
Mikey had finally breathed a sigh of relief, his welling anxiety finally settling like a calm wave.
His footsteps were light and left barely noticeable audiblity along a ragged stone path, stretching for miles on end.
For the first time in a year after the sudden invasion, Mikey had looked up into the sky, realizing that the main cube had been replaced by multitudes of smaller ones, evenly stationed across the azure atmosphere.
"Hey kid. Are you lost?"
A man suddenly spoke out, breaking the silence that Mikey was enjoying.
The sudden appearance of the man had made Mikey halt and turn his head with an expression of profound confusion.
"Uhh. Where did you just come from?"
Mikey asked with an ever growing uneasiness, noticing that the area lacked cover.
The man noticed Mikey's wary glances and smiled as a way to show he meant no harm, while also putting his hands up into the air.
"I'm not an agent kid don't worry. In fact, I felt some sort of attractive force pulling me this way. I know you feel that faint sensation too...I'm just like you kid."
The man spoke while lowering his arms to his side, a calm expression fixed on his face while gazing at Mikey.
On the other hand, Mikey's expression was tensed until the mention of an attractive force. The more Mikey focused, the more he felt that attractive force pulling him towards the man clad in adventuring armor.
"What do you want then?"
Mikey proclaimed without a seconds moment of hesitation, wanting to figure out what this man end goal was.
"You may not believe me, but I'm tasked with gathering the newly awakened enforcer's, to combat this tyrannical government. You might've or might not have heard of us, but we are referred to as...The Otherworldly Calamities or T.O.C for short. The names Kinju, nice to meet you."
The man who referred to himself as Kinju had official revealed the true purpose of his objective and the reason for contact, though Mikey still looked on with a skeptical gaze.
"Yeah I've heard about y'all. A bunch of enforcers that were deployed by the extraterrestrial's last year for the interstellar war."
Mikey proclaimed with an informative tone, to which Kinju nodded in confirmation, reaching into a pouch around his waist and pulling out an official insignia of T.O.C.
This had made Mikey realize that there was no way a simple life could be returned to him, his eyes were overshadowed by the bangs of his hair while hanging his head low.
Kinju simply observed without moving or uttering a word, allowing Mikey to digest the information.
"Well. I don't really have a choice now do I? It's either he caught by the agents and suffer experiments or join the people invading my home planet....so...where do we go?"
Mikey had finalized his answer with an unsettling determination.
"Good choice my man. Sit tight, they'll be here in a bit"
Kinju replied with a genuine smile, though it held traces of sympathy for Mikey due to the unfortunate circumstances that dragged him into the interstellar war.
Though, soon after the statement was made, the entire area within the spatial dimension began to bend in one direction and twist in the opposite direction, generating a wide distortion that warped spacetime within the area.
Then they were gone. The spacetime within the area returned to normal as if nothing occurred.
????
"Welcome to our Headquarters. I'll introduce you to the team."
Kinju proclaimed just as they appeared within a overly gigantic facility, filled with state of the art advanced technological equipment, straight from a sci-fi.
Mikey nodded in confirmation while walking a few steps behind Kinju, observing the structure and people that roamed within the facility.
Eventually, they've stopped in front of a solid metallic door. Kinju knocked on it a few times and within seconds, it became translucent and intangible.
Kinju urged an awe-struck Mikey into the room filled with six individuals seated at a round table.
"Mission achieved. I've successfully located Michael Sonora nicknames Mikey, and recruited him."
Kinju proclaimed with an even tone that showed respect to the individuals within the room, earning their praises before all eyes fell onto Mikey.
"Uhh...greetings. I'm Michael Sonora but everyone calls me Mikey. Last year I became an awakened enforcer and now I've come to understand what my scientific ability is...somewhat."
Mikey introduced himself with a subtle stammer that expressed his anxiety. This had made a few of them chuckle which eased the tension a bit.
"Okay Mikey. What is your scientific ability?"
A purple haired woman clad with a skintight uniform asked with a sly tone of voice, almost seductively.
"Umm...from what I can understand from it now. I can control the concept of Mathematics and influence reality by manifesting it into the real world."
Mikey proclaimed with a sheepish grin while rubbing the back of his neck with an akward expression.
This statement had left everyone in complete and utter shock, filling the room with an uncanny silence.
"S-So you can control... mathematics?!"
The same purple haired woman yelled out in confusion and awe, practically jumping out of her chair and running towards Mikey, halting right in front of him while clasping her own hands over his.
"What can you do now?!"
The purpled haired woman asked with a shining sparkle in her eyes that exuded curiosity.
On the other hand, Mikey had smiled nervously at the attention he was getting, as if he had said something absurd which unbeknownst to him, he basically did.
"Uhh...as of now I can only manifest a negative and a positive number that distorts space when combined."
Mikey stated with an subtly uneased tone of voice, earning another set of wide eyes from the individual's in the room.
"Mikey. You're the chosen one that will decide the tides of this war."
A man clad in a raven black robe had spoke from the furthest seat at the table, gaining the attention of everyone in the room including Mikey
"You've been selected by the great elder celestial's to lead us into victory....and we will help you achieve that greatness."
