The Dream Wedding of Max and Rose

That was the day everyone had been waiting for: the wedding of Max and Rose. At 8:00 AM, all the guests gathered at the breakfast table. They were eager to see Rose and her father, Daniel. When Rose and Daniel approached the table, he announced with tears in his eyes, "This is my daughter's last breakfast with me. From tomorrow, she'll be at her in-laws' house." The guests comforted him, saying, "It's a part of life. Every girl faces this moment." They welcomed Rose warmly, and the table overflowed with 50 to 70 delicious breakfast dishes. Maids served everyone by hand, and guests enjoyed whatever they liked.

In the evening, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, the wedding was set for St. James Church (also known as Skinner's Church), the oldest surviving church in Delhi, built in 1836 by Colonel James Skinner near Kashmere Gate. Guests prepared to attend. Meanwhile, the bride and groom went to the beauty parlor for makeup and styling. Daniel had ordered new clothes from the USA, which Rose and Max wore. A sleek new car was gifted to Max, and another to Rose.

Everyone arrived at the church an hour early. The priest waited for the bride. Daniel and Auntie Mary accompanied Rose, along with her new friends from the USA. They took their seats as the priest began prayers. Then Max entered with his family, grandfather, grandmother, and Delhi friends. With the priest's permission, they sat down.

The priest delivered a message on marriage: how husbands and wives should live together in God's presence, bowing to Him daily—not to sin. Everyone listened intently. Suddenly, a voice called out, "Max! Max!" It was Kim, with John—her wedding was next. She apologized publicly: "I'm sorry for disturbing your wedding. I feel guilty and need to ask forgiveness from both families." Max said he didn't understand, but Auntie Mary replied, "It's fine. You're about to marry John—no need for apologies. Prepare for your own wedding."

The priest then guided Max and Rose through vows, seeking God's permission. He declared them husband and wife, loyal until the end. He read from the Bible, and the ceremony ended. Elders gave blessings. Nearly 2,000 people filled the church—some stood outside as seats ran out.

The bride and groom walked out slowly, meeting in the churchyard. Elders blessed them one by one. It was a rare, beautiful wedding at St. James Church after many years. Everyone then moved to the function hall for lunch and dinner. They enjoyed evening snacks. The couple changed into party outfits, as did the guests. Daniel and James hosted a grand evening party for 2,000 people, with snacks, cool drinks, hot drinks, ice creams, music, and dancing. Children played in the gardens. Everyone had a great time.

Before dinner, drinks and desserts were served. On the dais, Mary, Rose, and Max stood together. Daniel, James, and others joined them with mics. They thanked the 2,000 guests—relatives, friends, neighbors—for coming. "If our hospitality fell short, please forgive us," they said. Guests replied, "You've made us so happy!"

Some guests presented gifts and blessings. Daniel gifted two new cars to Rose and Max, plus diamond and platinum jewelry sets to Rose. James and Mary gave Max a platinum chain and ring; his grandparents added platinum gifts too.

The function ended at 1:00 AM. Everyone retired to their rooms. Daniel, Mary, and James prayed, thanking God for the perfect day.

The next morning at 6:00 AM, they prepared breakfast. By 8:00 AM, guests gathered. Max and Rose entered, thanking everyone: "Your presence made us so happy." Forty to fifty people sat at each table. After breakfast, Daniel and James gifted items to relatives who'd stayed 15 days—gold rings from James, other presents from Daniel. Blessings flowed.

Finally, it was time for Rose to go to Max's house. But Daniel asked, "Will you stay in your new house near Auntie Mary's?" Max replied, "No problem, Uncle. We'll invite Grandma, Grandpa, and family to inaugurate it." Within a day, both families gathered, invested in the home, and held the inauguration. They were thrilled.

Some USA guests left that afternoon, others in the evening—all gone within two days. Daniel then invited Max's grandparents to the USA for 10 days for business meetings and a small function. They flew out the next day. Max hugged the elders there and took their blessings. Remarkably, they all returned to India within 10 days.

In this story, we see the power of God's blessings, prayers, hospitality, truthfulness, and sincerity. Rose achieved her dream boy, Max, through willpower and strong faith. God granted her chance. Mr. and Mrs. Max lived happily and interestingly ever after, even into their 90s.

The End.
